your star rating system is ridiculous when you have forum members who get a thrill out of one-staring posts just for the fun of it. I've seen many valuable posts one starred and those people who think they have value have to waste time 5 starring them.

That's the exact reason I never give much validity to the Star system...I think things would be different if we could see who "starred" a post and what they rated it...those one-star trolls would run for the hills...lol

Exactly... Most people ignore the star rating system (except the posters who are one-starred ^_^) when browsing the threads... But I have heard rumors that the "other" Forum Titles mentioned in some Dev posts may be based on your average rating given out... So if that were true, the one-stars will be seen down the road as everyone else gets different titles and the one-starrers are stuck at Vet...

I don't think star ratings should even appear until at least ten people rate it. Even then I think it should only be on starting threads and not replies. The only use I can think of having the star system is so you know which threads to check out and which to avoid. I think if they made these changes it would be a step in the right direction.

well at least 1 thread disappeared from my bookmarks. It was in the creature handler forum. I thought at first I had just failed to get it bookmarked but then others started mentioning that it was missing too.

Just fyi.. 1 person 1 starring your thread does not hide it, you may see the one star but it takes more than a handful of people to make a thread disappear from 1 starring.

However if you had a thread that had flaming, ranting or anything that violates our community policies then it could have been removed.

Well, since Thunderheart thinks all our valid, detailed, on-focus posts are rants, maybe that's why posts are dissapearing?
