This is also going to hurt our long neglected bretheren, the Bounty Hunters, as well...

Nope, that does not put us in the same boat. The reason I say this is:

1. As stated by yourself, the DOTs are HUGE with a CM, and ors is now practically non-existant.

2. ANYONE, can use a blanket/extinguisher, but onlu Docs can heal disease.

Just thought I'd point that out.

I completly agree to the DOT factors, at the current time the D level health poisons are far superior to any flame DOT. As for the fire blankets, they're only useable by Doctors..

"To give players a fair chance against this, Doctor’s can now craft Fire Blankets. Fire Blankets will give Doctors the ability to extinguish flame with a /extinguishflame command that will enable the use of the fire blanket. To balance out the Fire Blanket, using the blanket drains the “mind” of the doctor. " (quoted from Stratics, draged from the inital post by TH)

So that stops every Tom **edit** and harry using it. I guess the /extinguishflame command will be available in the same line as the existing cancel status effect lines. So other than that, i completly agree, a CM rifle-man can both apply a variety of strong DOT's (In comparison we can only focus on one pool, at a far reduce rate at best), and still fire a variety of high damage shots, accuratly and quickly (while we're at a high damage, incredibly slow and at a incredibly low rate of accuracy). We need to be balanced, not buffed to being stupidly uber but increased to be at a fair level, if we ask for too much we'll never get it.

Yup blankets are only for Docs to use, my mistake. But it seems useless, or actually a mind hit to docs, since our DOT is now so insignificant.

The logic behind this is as such: Tat-only two places to extinguish flames-Rori, all swamps no real water to get doused.

Will a doc heal every flame DOT, doubt it. How many people die on the battlefield from poison/disease with a doc near by?

Just a litte way to balance it out.

They say no water on Tat and Rori is the cause of this then:

Make blankets only work on those planets.

Why do the devs make things harder than they are?

it doesnt matter the only person who dies from a flame thrower is somebody who doenst have heat resist armor you drain a docs mind when he uses a blanket, now thats a good idea

No, make them work everywhere. First new weapon we've gotten in ages and you're trying to turn it down. Sheesh. Talk about ungrateful.

One Star, you didn't one star me

/nosarcasm Were the HAM costs listed for blankets?

They may be able to throw the blanket and have only 1 point drained from mind. Sure it's an exaggeration, but until it's implemented we won't know if it's a good or bad thing.

From the stand point of balance how does this work on Naboo? Half the cities have rivers running through them so now they get fire blankets too? That sounds unbalanced to me.

I think everyone missed the bright side of Fire Blankets...we've asked for a ranged special and the Dev's have delivered...We now have a ranged Mind Attack that can be used at any range and costs us no HAM to apply...all we have to do is apply a DoT and the doctor will do the rest of the damage to themselves or whomever they heal...lol...

Seriously though...the blanket does seem pointless for combat since a Novice Medic can now heal the DoT damage faster then we can apply it...The only times I really see this blanket coming into play is post battle when someone has killed a Commando in PvP (I know it's hard to believe that we ever die in PvP...stop the gasps) and wants the DoT removed rather then wait out the DoT timer...It's pretty much a post-fight tool...

I will personally laugh at the first Doctor that uses a Fire Blanket in a fight witha Commando....in fact I might just send them a /tip for helping me out by doing themselves mind damage...
