Thread: new up date is in and im hellishly mad
I agree, threatening to leave the game will not influence SOE one bit. If it would then EQ would not have survived it's first year. We are seeing growing pains with SwG now - and will continue to see them for a year or more (imho).
However, the devs do need to listen to the player base on some issues. Since threatening to quit paying for the game will not do it - then how about a "protest" from massive amounts of players? We don't even have to go on "strike" (not play for a week or so) - if the commando community does not like the decay rate on death lets protest (I don't like it - it's hard to find the armor I wear as it is) --- all commandos run around necked (no clothes, no armor and carry a cdef pistol. Get together in groups and take screenshots, post the shots and the reasons for them on the web --- maybe player made "bad press" will influence SOE to listen.
And get us a coordinator and listen to them!
Sorry for the semi - rant, but for now the commando is shafted again, and "pie-in-the-sky" future fixes don't do a thing for me right now.

Did you have your armor in inventory or in the bank/at home? My understanding was if it were not worn or in your inventory it would not decay. Someone please verify. If all my armor is going to decay at 1 to 5% regardless of it's location I'm done.

Everything in your inventory decays upon cloning. "Upon cloning" is the operative word here. If you're with a doctor who can rez you, you won't suffer decay on items.
For the record, I am one commando who TOTALLY supports the decay of items. People were being WAY too gung-ho regarding death. I thought it ridiculous that people would ask others to DB them for a quick ticket back to the city. It was absolutely ridiculous that people would solo red-cons without any risk of losing anything upon failure.
There needs to be some penalty for failure. This decay penalty is a perfect amount of penalty in moderation.
How hard could it be to NOT attack alone something that will most likely kill you?
Get over it. It's here to stay and it's a good thing.

I do agree that insurance is only 2K for the whole deal now, but the losers who mock maddogs for not using spell check, need to read the commando boards more that once a year.
Most of the people who read this board know why maddogs types the way he does. I bet if we went back to your posts, we'd find a lot more than spelling errors
. So grow up and worry about what he says and not how he types/says iti( opps spelled it wrong.)

dont know if this has already been said, didnt take the time to read all the posts. I think this is a good step forward. This will cause people to think about what there doing before they just run into a battle spouting off there flamecone and burning everything they can before they are struck down. it gives a consequence fore dieing. maybe they could tone it down a little though, make it only apply to pvp or be less costly in PvE. also, it gives something for BH's to be concernd about when they go up against a jedi, its nothing compared to perma death, but at least its something

I guess how much you like or dislike the decay system depends on how much you went through to get your equipment.
I spent a lot of time and effort getting my armoranddislike this new system.
I wont be wearing any of my armor until "insure" actually means my armor wont decay upon death
