The term rifle has nothing to do with any type of gun. You can call a pistol a rifle and technically be correct. Modern day society and morons like you who don't know gunsmithing from wanking off in the bathroom call the really long guns with the big scopes rifles.
Rifl-ING is a term used for the proccess of makeing gun BARRELS. A rifled gun has had the inside of its barrel ingraved with spiraling grooves, these make the bullet spin as it flys down the barrel. In other words, the battleships of WW2 had rifled barrels. This increased accuracy and range of the shots from the barrel. Before Rifling was invented, we had muskets which were basically shotguns (oh my! the one gun that isn't rifled! Unless ofcourse your a vampire hunter and use it to shoot wooden stakes... but then your just insane) Except they were far less powerful and could barely shoot a bullet accross a football field.
Considering the nature of acid, I highly doubt the acid "rifle" has been rifled. So. How does a non-rifled gun have anything to do with range or accuracy because of a stupid name that an uncreative company came up with because they were running outta stuff to pull from their ass? The **edit** thing is broken, no one knows what its meant to do because no one cares because as I said THE **edit** THING IS BROKEN. Our BEST bet is that it IS a copy of the LLC.
I could go into detail about theorized possibilitys of how the laser guns in the star wars universe work, but I read up on them years ago and forgot most of the details, however I can safely say that the RIFLES in the game aren't rifled. They just big long barreled guns named by an ignorent company.

Military my fuzzy irish ass. You just went around in a circle. And ignored the fact that I said SOE called it a rifle for lack of a better term (Acidthrower must not have come to mind). Maybe its suppose to shoot energized acid lazer beams or something, instead it shoots little brown sticks that point up instead of towards the target. In either case its a lousy piece of crap yanked out of a devs ass with a pair of tweezers.
Incase you havn't noticed, in this game a flamethrower can hit targets at the same distance as a RIFLE rifle, the ones that the riflemen use? Yeah, also the exact same range as pistols light lightning cannons rocket launchers and every other weapon (except grenades, heaven forbid we should be outside the blast radius of our own grenades!) and even hand tossed poisons and diseases from CMs. Try useing the acid rifle, try useing the special for it (acidsingle1, is the only one I trust to actually work), do you see a giant bolt of acid? No you see a spray of some kind of green goo. Weather this is acid or snot from a really sick rancor blowing its nose, no one knows. There IS no ranged advantage unless you count ranged weapons vs melee weapons. None of the ranged weapons out range eachother. Its only the specials that define the flamethrower and acid rifles so called "effective" range.
And actually, I think you are mistaken. Rifling was developed to increase the range of the projectile itself. As we learned that spinning objects often stay in the air longer (think frisbees, and footballs thrown in a spiral) because they streamlined the air in a spiral pattern around them. True it DID increase the accuracy, but that was more of a side effect. It was indeed more accurate when shot accross a football field, and could even nail targets 3 or 4 football fields away with decent accuracy. Now snipers use them to shoot and kill targets MILES away, not football fields. SOE called it a rifle because its a big ass gun with a long barrel and a laser pointer pen glued to the bottom of the tip. Thus we solve the mystery on why a gun is called a rifle and yet was not meant for range. (If you really think about it, pistols have the same range as rifles, they both use the same form of energy projection and the only diffrence is that the rifle uses a more powerful energy blast, supposedly.... Pistolers still outdamage them and pistoler/bh outdamage US and our flamethrowers)

When someone claims victory after haveing useing absalutely ZERO logic you know they are retarded 13 year olds.
Reasons why I think you never been in the military?
A: you had to look up what rifle meant in the dictionary
B: I doubt you have a high school deploma, thus makeing you un-eligable to be in the military.
C: I doubt you are older then 13, with a name like that your either a kid trying to be cool or a acid junkie trying to be cool.
D: You have no idea what logic is.
E: If you really ARE in the military then I fear for my country's safety, that is if your in the USA military. If you were in the Iraqi military then I can see why were kicking your ass.

I would just like to point out that I am in the military, E-6 in the Navy, CTR1... no high school deploma (GED) and I keep a Dictionary on my desk at work and at home at all times. As a matter of fact I would look up say "Logic" before ever telling someone they didn't know what it is.
Another cool thing... look up glass... bet you think you know what glass is, I would put $50 onthe tablethat you don't. And I mean glass like in a window, as in any of a large class of materials with highly variable mechanical and optical properties that solidify from the molten state without crystallization. Still bet you can't tell me if glass is a liquids or a solid. Without looking it up.
We can use Pistol Specials with the Launcher so leave it alone...
The Acid rifle is the biggest POS in the game, so do something...
The Flame is fine but need to have a smaller range...
And for Grenades, god, do something to them!

i know im going to get flamed for this but the lp shouldint work with pistoler shots like fan shot and stopshot and it should have ap1
and tsunami yes about the flamer i sed max rang 32m
and if u think about it i did fix the gernads in what i sed they will be acrut and fast and low ham they be worth useing now we could also have a commando to role gernads ensted of throw only but othere then that it fixes evry thing
