Thread: Rifleman's New Beserker Rifle Does Heat Damage...Not Blast...
T-21 as blast = teh overkill. It was for a day or two, but it was only ap1 and much lower damage.
I'm glad the rifle isn't blast, but will have the ability to drop a flame DOT?? The last thing us riflers need is another reason for people to call nerf on us.
And I completely agree, y'all need some new toys. Maybe combine the acid/flamer trees, as they are EXACTLY the same, minus different guns. Maybe a e-web or something.. you have to be kneeling, like the disposables, but INSANE rate of fire with decent damage. Make it like a moblie turret.
Just a suggestion from a rifler.

Im still fairly certain that a Boys ATR wouldnt penetrate even the rear armor of a German vehicle made after the Pz-IIIh and J series started to roll out........anything prior to that, then yes.
Itd have to be one heck of a lucky hit to penetrate the armor on the other stuff with a boys...and forget it against a Panther or a Tiger.or even a Pz mark IV.
thats why the army started developing heavier anti-tank weaponry. The germans Panzerfaust was an exceptional anti-tank weapon.
but anyway I suggested this Boys idea for commandos so that Commandos could get a HEAVILY ACCURATE, HEAVILY piercing, and LONG RANGE weapon.....something you guys have been lacking.
you cant very well give yourselves a heavy AP, highly accurate, long range weapon that works Excellent as you are running, just due to game balance issues...but a long range accurate and powerful weapon is soemhting that commandos currently dont have and could use for sure.
As to the assumptiont hats not a commando weapon.... it would be mor eproper to give it to a commando than a rifleman.
as for Blast damage......as far as this game goes Blast would be better than heat for most things a commando would be using it against than a heat-based weapon.

Boys ATR was an Anti-Tank Rifle used mostly in WWII (in fact it is still commonly used int he 3rd world today). It is an extremely long-barreled and powerful rifle that was able to penetrate thin-skinned armor (definately couldnt pierce German tanks...but it worked wonders on Japanese tanks and i believe the Stuarts the americans had, not sure on the Shermans)
It could be fired by 1 man from prone using a bipod to stabilize the long front end. Froma lla ccounts I have seen it was very accurate.
I think this would be a good Commando weapon along the lines of a blast damage type ranged weapon. It would be unique in that, possibly, a commando would have to be prone to use it...or at least kneeling.....that may nto sound good to you guys, but if you were handed a heavily damaging, blast, accurate weapon that you could runa roudn with there would be no ends to the complaining from riflemen and others about it.
SO while maybe u have to be prone or kneelign to use it and it would have a slow rate of fire....the upshot is it would have an AP blast damage...and have extremely high accuracy MODs (it is after all a long-barrled rifle).
Sounds more like a rifle then a commando weapon. Snipers would use it, not elite tactical forces. And if you say snipers are elite tactical forces well, your right, technically. But they don't fall into the commando catagory (Namely SEALS and Marines) We are hoping for some kind of assult rifle that we can have our own stats for. I don't think it should do blast damage (instead I think the RL should be reloadable and have an extended range of 70m and be equipable, this would give our primary Heavy Support Weapon a bigger role) Maybe energy or heat damage with AP2.
No that would definitely be a commando rifle. Made the .50 browning machine gun round look like a toy. The .50 BMG was initally an anti tank round of WWI which was just a scaled version of the .30-06 round commonly in use by our forces during that time frame.
