*Looking out of the back of the oldQ Carrier, old knownground, paths long tread, rush past, reflecting itself into his 'T' visor.* 500 meters...
*He glances at his in-helmet chrono, D-Day has come, Zero Hour approaches.* 400 meters...
*He grins grimly, his ex-home behind him, he prepares to adapt to new territory.A challenge, even more so, now that the drop-time was been moved up, but he knew so when he gave the order.* 300 meters...
*Some of the men seem nervous, restless even. He looks at each in order, they seem to calm.* 200 meters...
*The LZ isapproaching fast.* 100 meters...
*He stands and checks his weapons.* 60 meters...
*He takes a last look at his men, some will never return...* 30 meters...
*Drop-time, he drops from the Carrier, free-falling for miniute that seemed likemillennia. Finallyigniting his jetpack, he yells into squadcomm.*
"Okay, you wamp rats, lets go!"
*Mereel hits the ground running.*

This is my number one gripe - i've always loved Carbines but the state they're in now i simply dont dare to gamle. Maybe they will be crowd controllers one day, but knowing SOE that wont be a reality until at least 9 months from now.
So I will most probably be joining the Commandos, the true crowd controllers after the CU (add a little pistoleer and a little BH, stir and shake and you have a very nice PvP character)
So whats the traditions here.../21 flame salute?

All this time I thought Pvt. Hudson said that.

You could be right. Been a long time since I've seen that movie. I need to buy the DVD when I get some money...which will happen one of these days. Maybe.

Damned straight. I'm not buying RotW until I get more feed back on if it's worth the money, and maybe not even then.

Nice post Mr. Velvet.

I fear no evil; for I am a commando;
my Flamethrower and my rocket launcer, they comfort me." -Blasphemy 23
I'm ready for it. I am going to respec into my usual commando/Rifleman template because I don't have the equipment right now to support anything else. And lets face it, this game is going that direction (the equipment makes the character). I don't advice anyone else to do commando/rifleman unless you the rifleman play stile. And by rifleman I mean sniper. And by sniper I mean alot of patience and a GREAT getaway plan. The two don't compliment each other that well. The commando weapns don't do a whole lot for the riflman specials since the only really good ones (sniper and conceal shot) require you to be prone. And you can do more damage with the t21 than with the proton and the PFT. Not the place for this discussion, I know, but I'm kind of ranting. (WHAT?!?! someone ranting in a forum? Preposterous!)
Its coming. I don't think its ready but I'm not scared. The game is chaning and thats what most of us wanted. The GCW is in full swing on my server, we have a combat system coming in that will slow things down a bit (yes, I think combat will be slower, especially when people start running out of action), and for the time being the players will be on an even field. That is until we figure out which weapons combine with the right specials to make an insane template. Gank squads are gonna be the name of the game. Get you guilds and friends lists in order. Its gonna be wild.

Hopefully they fix the action nerf and put it back to the way it was last week. It was fine, then, in terms of action spent. You could kill two or three NPCs before your action died (more, if they were lower level).
As for the *speed* of PvP, it's actually FASTER now. Did a lot of testing last week. And the great thing is, after you die in PvP, you don't have to waste half an hour of your time getting buffed anymore just to play the game!
Of course, they still have to fix the action nerf or it won't be worth playing.

If I'm reading the respec right . I should be able to drop Marksman rifles and cabines and put those points into Pistoller, right?
I guess I don't know what standard or elite points are.
I asumed elite points are the points yuou get back for dropping boxes in elite profs. like Fencer or rifleman, etc.
What are Standard points?
And how do I manage to change standard [points to elite points?
I can't test respect - Flurry wasn't lucky enough to get to test.
