Stup you have got to be kidding. The Launcher Pistol and Republic Blaster were two of the most obnoxious weapons in the game. Nerf the effects! I could not see crap when grouped with some moron using a Launcher and the noise it (and the Republic) made was just too much. Not sure what the effects are now post-CU but I hope they are toned down quite a bit.
I have to agree with that bit in red. I do as much with a FWG5 without a powerup and with NO pistol skills/MODS (just general ranged ones). Im not crying nerf believe me, but has anyone else noticed that thier pistols seem to have come off very well in conversion?

i say we split up the plasma flamethrower into two catagories
the Plasma Thrower and the Flamethrower
the Plasma Flamethrower doesnt sound right...
Fix Cryoban grenades so the snare lasts for more than one second and using one doesn't entirely lock you up for one minute.
Last time I threw a cryoban grenade, not only did the snare end as soon as it started, but it also delayed me and left me unable to do anything but move.
Good point....didn't think of that...and that goes with the other post which is trying to get the plasma color changed to blue....

well you dont ussually associate plasma with flamthrowers.... it just isnt right.... in my mind
i still say chagne the acid beam's animation, it looks like a fungi-flinger, i think a more soild beam would do, like a fire hose
i would like to see the weapons be able to be upgraded.
for example:
Launcher Pistol mark I - certed for novice commando lvl 14
LP mark II certed fortier 2/3lvl 30
LP mark III certed formaster commando lvl 54
or possibly have the certs stay what they are right now, and just go off the lvl
LP as novice across the board, rocketlauncher is incender1, and so on, but adjust the lvl cert required and up the dps accordingly

i request normal weapons, well more of them, than the heavy ones.... like a master one... like a cross btween a carbine and a rifle
and if dual wield ever comes out, a dual wield pistol for commandos, like the ones the ARC troopers has...
the only reason i can see to buy ROTW is to get the clone armor...
How about a non-AoE master weapon that is not going to be high level dungeon lootable? (We suck in caves/dungeons etc anyways because we can't even use our primary gear due to not having any non-AoE weapons that aren't peashooters) I had visions of the proton rifle being some commando oriented quest that would have been placed in live for us to attain. Heh, they falsely advertised it as being a CU weapon to keep people apeased when they were showing the new CU weaponry to maintain subscriptions.It comes with the expansion obviously now and not the CU since it is notin live.
If they can't provide a non-loot non-AoE weapon, have them provide a Concentrated Fire special at the master box that has a good dmg modifier and removes the AoE of a weapon when that special is used. Why not let us control and shape our explosions at the master level so we don't get ourselves and our group killed because of AoE.
Next up would be to actually make us into a 5 on firepower like we were listed to be. Right now, I am not seeing any way that our heavy weapons are going to be on par with other professions modified DPS wise. I mean for goodness sake my pistols have higher base DPS than ANY of my heavy weapons. We pure and simple are DoT whores and status effect dealers.... we do not deal massive damage. We leaned on the flamethrower sooo long because it was our only functioning weapon and most of our best weapons to convert were the flamers.... but I just don't see setting someone on fire as being our only real means of damage. We are heavy weapons experts by role... but are limited still to only really dealing damage with our secondary (now: primary) prof's weapons. I'll take my 620ish modified dps on a carb over my 515ish dps and I am only dabbling in Carbineer and a master of the Commando prof. Rifleman are a 5 on damage dealing, BH actually should be a 5 on offense, and Commandoes using only their heavy weapons besides a flamerthrower are not a 5 at current. We are a 5 in damage dealingonly when coupled with BH or Rifleman and subpar to a Pistol wielding template.
I loved Commando all over again during testing because I was looking for bugs etc and loving the visuals. Now that the awe is gone, I see that our nades are still broken. We have to put away our commando weapons anywhere there are multiple high CL enemies or caves or get everyone killed. We have a RL that looks like it should blow a starship out of the sky but won't even oneshot a NPC 55 CL's lower than me using Advanced Critical Shot and we still lean on a flamethrower that has a 25m range... sounds like the same kinda setup we had before the CUwith the addition of state effects and some crowd control. Give me something I can really use to feel I am making mass carnage than spraying fire or shooting a stream of acid. A Heavy repeater... the Proton Rifle to be attainable in a normal capacity rather than some high end cave that we prob won't even be able to use commando weapons in or get the group killed...
Thanks for setting this up Stern, hope it works out to get commandoes something plausible. Heh, my alt that I converted into a Master BH/Master SL/MM smokes the heck out of any commando template I have been able to build in raw power using an Intimidator pistol that almost has a higher base DPS than my best converted plasma flamer and LP combined. I really wanna stay a commando, but we don't don't demolish things... we draw all theaggro better than even the best taunt skill due to AoE and not damage dealt.
