I kinda see both sides of this one.. While I have recently become a commando I started the process before they really started making changes to it. I thought that I would still be the under dog.. Initially though I started as a ch then realized how overpowered they were and switched to fencer.. Then when I realized they were taking the one thing that kept fencers goin, knockdown, I got out. I realize that the nerf to knockdown was very much needed but its way more important to melees than ranged users.. Even though I am a new commando I didnt come over because of these changes.. At the same time yeah I dont want to see any more.. I kinda like whipping out the flame thrower or acid rifle and having people go "ooh whats that?".. then responding.. "....no.. just walk away.. dont look at it. I shouldnt have let you see it.. I admit it does look cool but please.. PLEASE just walk away from this.....". I dont think it will be that bad though.. after they help us they will help some of the other classes that need help and then they will nerf all of them to more of a balanced level. I cant wait to see the commando boards fill up with anti-nerf statements in 2 months or so whenever.. it will happen,it always does. Sorry, I got boozed tonight so if my post is rambling just ignore it.

The funny thing is that by the time these power whores get to commando it will already have gotten the nerf bat down to a well balanced class and the stupid **edit**ers will have just wasted a lot of time.

Its painfully obvious that they are going to make us way to powerful to start off with then knock us down to the level we should be. But this isn't like CH where you can get to the 1337 level in one day, novice commando takes a lot of time. And it will be fun listening to people whine about getting to novice commando just in time to have the class balanced.

I hope the 3x damage midifier is put in for those carrying heavy weapons. That way it makes commando depend on well balanced groupmates to survive in pvp battles. None of these novice noobs with RL will be any good in pvp besides a freebie DB

Hehe it is nice for us to still be rare and influential, though I got the feeling that commando was supposed to be a pretty popular class. Now to get WAY ahead of myself...elite-hybrid professions of commandos...bring on the bugs, I can take anything after this.

I'm much freer with who I train, but I just hope that dirty tactics don't evolvelike spamming KnockDown. I just want the raw power regardless of few defensive bonuses. Just remember these days, as when the nerf bat starts flying, we'll be the ones saying 'eh not so bad' and the new guys will be screaming 'why us?'

As for the community, I have greatly enjoyed my time with you guys as it appears as though we honestly influenced the game in a positive manner. I hope that all of you continue to be as supportive in the days to come and whatever other trials we will face. Let's take this one in stride and show those CHs how to handle a nerf.

I thought I posted a lot. That guy is a riot. Tried my best explaining things to him, but don't have much hope.

Also wanted to point out that this guy is exactly pointing our why I feel Launcher pistol should have Pistol abilities removed and specials added unique to the LP.

I mean, if you want to get commando and train up heavy weapons 3 to use the rocket launcher well. It's your choice.

But the training Novice Commando so you can do more damage as a BH/Smuggler/Pistoleer is just wrong. Although it will make taking out At-Sts and turrets easier with so many more people able to use our blast dmg pistol.

I am still working on getting commando but its the only master that i am truely aimming for (well marksmen but that is a pre req) and i do believe that a lot of the power hungry people will just say no when they see the pre reqs, for me thats half the fun of getting a class, learning how to take out the stronger creatures and all.... except those stupid lord nayx ppl......gggrrrrrrrrr lol

oh yeah i bet a lot of the influx will be PA people trying to help get their PA a balanced mixed...

I had aspirations of being a Rifleman when I first started playing (a month after release) but then turned to Commando about 2 weeks ago beforethe bigchanges were announced. When they were announced however I got more excited and worked harder to get to Commando and now I'm Novice and I plan on sticking it out no matter how many other Commandos there are.

If however the class does get nerfed and I find that it's not fun anymore (we all play for fun, don't we?) then I'll think about changing back to Rifleman. Right now however I'm having fun with just my Launcher Pistol and I look forward to the changes that are forthcoming, whether or not they're "uber" or not it doesn't bother me, just so long as I have a range of weaponry to choose from thatis still fun to use!

Ok, I;ve been contemplating Commando for a while now. I'm wondering what the changes are that you guys are talking about everyone wanting to be commando? The Blast vulnerability on Walkers? The new wpns mods? I personally think that THe Rocket Launcher should be put way higher on the skill tree, but that is just me. It would also stop a lot of people from doing Commando casually, while really being other professions. The new weapons mods will still require the same hard to find resources, so I don't think they'll be many of them out there, and aren't they still 0.0 opt range? Is there something more that I am missing, and didn't see yet?

Ey there... I've been working toward commando for a month now, after deciding CH wasn't for me. So anyway, commando was way underpowered, as it still is. I have been lurking the forums since I decided to quit CH... Like most,I was sorry to see our correspondant go. I was also sorry to see that the class was so underpowered, but figured it would be fixed in time. I have been away from the forums for a couple of days now, and was somewhat shocked to see all the posts about people hopping on bandwagons, and such. I'm 10,000 combat points from novice. I'm curious if I made it under the wire? Did I need to be a card carrying commando by 8/25 to not be a l33t d3wd?

Of course I'm somewhat joking, but it seems that the old commando forum is gone, it is now the old versus the new. Which ain't all bad, I guess, but it is nice to be welcomed into your new profession, rather than viewed as being all suspicious like.

Thanks-
