Thread: Grenades... any use?

As far as I know with the grenades...

It seems that when you have a weapon equiped that you're proficient in, it'll hit for numbers in the max damage range, while if you have a weapon thats not only weaker but seemingly less proficient in, it does a LOT less damage, closer to its min I believe.

No ETA that I know of. Theres so little to report, I don't think some devs even know about grenades ...or if a group of chimps are locked away on computers "enhancing" them...

From what I have seen, grenades do not get increased range for any reason aside from a thrown weapon cyber arm. A grenade's range is no way tied to your currently equiped weapon's range. Grenades do however, seem to be tied in some way to your modified accuracy with the weapon you have currently equiped. I'll have to check on the cooldown in relation to the speed of your equiped weapon. I didn't think to look at it while waiting off the 3 minute reuse timer.

are you sure? cause i've chucked nades from 40-50 meters away.


i wish theyd fix this... i got some acklay glops that do 1700 that i'm dieing to use.

Well, that was based on the assumption they work. I won't be seen dead with a thrown weapon arm. Nothing like giving yourself an armor hole to make better use of a completely borked weapon. As for increased range, I can only guess this "increased" range is the result of lag and a failure to update proper distance at the time the grenade is thrown. I tested against a guildie throwing with various weapons equiped, and grenade range never changed. We both stood still while Iattempted to throwthe weapon, and he stood still asI changed range and weapons.

nah it's not lag. I've had varying greande throw ranges. I've had ones that for what ever reason wouldnt throw past 20m. To those that woudl go out as far as 65m. It's especially the pre-cu converted ones that seem the most borked. Some of my post Cu crafted test grenades actually seems to work (throw range wise at elast) a little more normally. But yeah I've had say.. a proton rifle in hand (65m range), with a grenade (64M range) and couldnt throw it moer than 30m. *shrug*


On the other hand I managed to toss a grenade 80m once while wearing a pair of ranged arms and wielding a laser rifle back when I was MCom/Mrifles. Hell if I know.

Most of the pre-cu ones are yes only a second or two. But if you craft them for the DOT post CU (As I've done) it'll last longer than that. It's still no where near as good to be eprfectly honest as any other professions snare. But I've found it's more than enough. Especially in some areas. Like the mydrill caverns. I once fell behind a group heading to go kill necro. So I decided to just run for it. So with hordes of spiders chasing me and biting my ass off. I toss a cryo and it slowed em down long enough to buy me some more time and break off abit more agro.
