The thing is you guys are the heavy hitters you are slow but do massive dmg, your advantage is the one shot kill. And i wouldn't judge your profession till ya reach master. I have tried my cuz's master commando and i slaughtered people ya just gotta know how to use it. I have seen all these tests but were you shooting back? Did you shoot a Dot on them?

Don't bother posting, if you dont read my posts!!!!!!!

If you go up and read my first reply in this thread, you will see,. that i listed a complete damage calculation for 40 seconds, including DoT for both, fencer and Commando.

As you will see, including DoT, the fencer surpasses the Commandos Damage by factor2.5 to 3.0 !!!!!

If you still don't understand: a fencer (weakest Brawling profession in terms of Damage) deals up to three times as much damage as a Commando!

Read the thread, before you reply!

OMG how i hate those kiddies!

As it is clear that every profession cries that they're over-nerfed,
as it is clear that alot of people can do math and explain in long long messages how their profession is surpassed,
as it is clear that not a single SOE will adjust this anytime soon,
I come to the last honorable factor:
FUN!

Nowhere in this thread have i read about the possible FUN to find a way to actually get at 16m or less, fire, and watch your target slowly toast while you twist&turn to not get hit, by using a 2nd class profession or just your wits.
Nowhere in this thread have i read that a commando is a very wanted item in any group!

You know what? I absolutely love being a commando!
Because no matter around which action i show my face, people will salute me for the damage that hides in my torch.

HeavyWacko out.

Well, I haven't sat down with a calculator and figured up all these numbers and statistics and all that jazz. However, I have noticed that since I made commando (and flame 4 in particular), I've been dying less and killing more in PvP. At least one on one, anyway. I'm still dying a lot and not getting many db's in the big group battles, but maybe I just haven't figured out how to use my skills in a big battle yet. CH's, especially used to scare me, but now I just run right past their grauls or GSPs or whatever and one shot them with FS2 and then try to do as much damage to their pets as I can before they store them. Pistoleers still piss me off, but what can ya do?

BTW, a little trick I learned, might be old news maybe, is to switch over to your LP during your reload time after doing FS1 or 2. You still can't shoot back, but you don't take 2.5x damage while you're running around waiting to use a special again. Soon as you can shoot again, hit 'em with HS1, then back to the FT. Of course, it helps that I'm also Master Surgeon and can heal my entire HAM in one shot.

Oh, and a quick question. Do FS1 and FS2 (and, I suppose, CS1 and 2) stack like the bleeds do? In one of the equations posted here, it looked like they do, so I was wondering. If so, that'd be great and I'll have to rearrange my hotkeys.

I think in pvp commando is a 1 shot killer but in the same fact if they miss they die. They frontload all there damage so in a way there damage is lower b/c by the time a commando fires off another special others can get in ALOT more specials to the commando. That however is the tradeoff for there frontloaded power, and that dam DOT which is nice.

Theres a reason I (when I was a master commando) never PvP'ed in the open..always sticking in the cities, back alleys, around corners..never charging my oponent.

When they played on my terms..walking into my 16m range..I won 75% of the time..when I hit.

But in the open...I considered myself as dead..unless my oponent was a brawler..and I got my shot of before he came into range.

A commando in the open, is a dead commando..before we can pull our shots off, we are KD'ed, delayed, killed. In close quarters..we have a chance.

And..we are outdamaged...all we have, is that first strike heavy punch.....then..they race past us damage wise.

LLC? more damage than a flamer..you have no idea what AP light does to a gun like the LLC..being a 0-2-4-4 BH..I can tell you..I dread going back to Commando..wich I will..cuz I'm a soldier..not a friggin mercenary

Just posted this in another thread here, but it's worth saying again. If you're missing 50% of the time with your FT specials, fricking use aim before you fire. It takes an extra second or so, but I hit probably95% of the time with FS2 (just guessing the %, but I rarely miss). It's worth the extra second up front to not have to miss and wait an extra 8-10 seconds to try again while you're getting beat on. Oh yeah, and switch weapons or drop the FT after your special, so you're not taking 2.5x damage after your first shot...I switch to LP after I aim/FS2, so I can HS1 immediatly upon being able to fire again, then switch back to FT and finish 'em off.

If you're real mean, after yet another Rebel/CH/BH is lying burning at your feet from the above combo, you can go light his pets up with FS1/FS2 before you go db.

That extra second will kill you, if you play against me.....

Someone said, they wont change it any time soon...

Well, i didnt ask for it. The question of this thread was, wether commandos really deal less damage than the other professions, and my correct answer was yes.

After that, i simply stated how high the damage would need to be, to be comparable with that of the other professions.

DoT:

Someone said nice DoT. Well, true, but even with all 4 dot stacked the Commando deals less damage than a fencer, a pistoleer, a carbineer, a rifleman, a swordsman..... you get the point?

In a standard PvP enviroment, the commando is doomed to fail, unless his opponents run around like headless chicken. Against a well coordinated group of only 5 players, not even 50 Commandos stand a chance.

why?

Because the commandos skill reduce ACID to A..D!

If you dont know what that means, you should read more of my posts, or learn more about PvP.

Flame DOTs do stack BTW. If anything make it so we don't get attacked as much in groups. I am always getting killed for using a flame cone on a group of mobs even though the mobs are being tanked by pets they turn on me and run straight at me. Then half the time they incap and DB me in 1 hit. But I think to make up for our lack of damage make it so we don't get hit so much and one other idea is give use the the requirement of TKA Student. Like my idea is so that we can hide ourselves in PVP like an instant covert or make it so NPCs don't see us until we are close enough to use our specials.
