These aren't entirely set in stone anymore, and of course old correspondents can either re-apply or return after a small hiatus. I feel real life won't nag me to the point where I can't perform my duties as Correspondent (maybe not until the end of this year however), but Im curious to know if you guys would want me to stay as Correspondent for at least a while longer.

I'd always wanted to be correspondent, personally. I tried unsuccessfully when Garvin got it, and when you got it.

But honestly, I can't even bring myself to play anymore. I'm too disgusted by how we're constantly ignored, and how everything seems to cater to the Jedi. I haven't logged played since the first of August, maybe even longer than that.

Bet my mail's piled up pretty good by now...

I keep the account open, and I keep checking the boards for some sign of hope, something that'll make me want to play again...

Long story short: you're an excellent correspondent, Stern. I'd rather they keep you around and start listening to you (and us) than anything else. Maybe then, when things have been fixed enough so that I look forward to playing again, maybe sometime then I can run against you for correspondent.

Keep fighting the good fight, Stern.

Hey guys, just doing a bit extra work on my end today...got some things planned, and some news:

New Stuff:

  • I'm about half done with the Version 3.0 guide. After a bit of not working on it (was waiting on our AoE fixes...but, they're still not here so what the heck?), and after scrapping the last written out version for something that flowed a bit better, and was more informative...it'll be out sooner than a "Dev Soon"

  • Honestly, I'm a bit fed up with merely asking (and not recieving) questions about our issues or the beastly AoE problem that we've been in for the past 8 publishes. Orget some hope that it's being worked on, then not hearing anything since. So, I got a crazy idea to do a weekly correspondent thread for our wonderful developers with "Commando Forum Verbatim" - direct quotes, threads, etc from you guys. Mature, but angry quotes for that matter. I do use quite a bit from you guys to back-up Corr threads/posts/points, or try and point the Devs to threads of interests (ie RankorCity's stickied top 5). However...given the amount of responses I've gotten, I'm going to see what happens if I truly let loose the floodgates and quite almost have it whereyou guys are directly talking to them (meaning: Oodles upon oodles of your feedback, so even if a dev is just surfing the forums he WILL see it). We'll see how that turns out, for now I've picked through quite a few threads in here and have accumulated quite a bit quotes and truly dang good posts.

  • Now, as all of you know...I've been Correspondent for quite a while (Since the Alpha CU Forum era). Corro's have term limits, and I believe Im a month or two away from that limit.

Old Stuff:

  • For those who haven't seen it (especially since the thread is gone), Jo-don was kind enough to give us a very small, but useful update with AoE...it's being fixed. Now, of course we don't know the ETA (especially since according to Blixtev it "Should be working internally" back when he made an attempt)...but given the sheer lack of information, its better than nothing at this point. I have no further information regarding this, and I have explicitly queried about AoE and other questions a while back which was an ongoing thread which failed to garner developer feedback despite two attempts.

  • Along with the "no update on AoE", there is also nothing else to report on our other issues which most have been listed quite a few times since the CU, all have been reported internally...but other than that, nothing else I know.

  • And for those who keep up with my posts, I don't use color or lines that often because I primarily use Mozilla...well, first time in a very long time that Im using Iexplorer - mainly for the Commando Forum Verbatim. *Cough* That will explain why I have rainbow-colored headlines

Forgot the most important sign in there : p(™). The Commando Forum Verbatim sounds good, as long as we can keep it civil, othewise it will be skipped anyway.

And on the most important matter, Issue 3, end of your term. To my belief, you have the full community's support(right guys :smileywink. Serious, your a damn fine Corospondant and I know many of us would have left had it not been for you, and many WILL leave if you do. So, do try to re-apply or get an extension at the least. We need you : )

Ill be the next Commando correspondent.

When SOE asks me for feedback or reports ill just sit there and do nothing.

They will keep asking mefor community feedback and our top 5 issuesbut ill just smile and do nothing.

'Why are you not doing what you signed up to do?' they will say.

'Have you?' I'll reply.

'Foolish boy. Don't you know anything about Fantasia? It's the world of human fantasy. Every part, every creature of it, is a piece of the dreams and hopes of mankind. Therefor, it has no boundaries.'
'But why is Fantasia dying then?'
'Because people have begun to loose their hopes and forget their dreams. So the nothing grows stronger. It's the emptiness that's left. It's like a despair, destroying this world. And I have been trying to help it.'
'But why?'
'Because people who have no hopes are easy to control. And whoever has control has the power'

Stern, I can't speak for everyone, but you certainly have my support. Give em hell! Just don't get yourself punted from the position. I don't think anyone here would be too chuffed to take your place, with the big shoes to fill and all. Personally, I have been considering flying down to Austin, just to find the devs on their lunchbreak and ask them the question thats been burning inside every SWG player. That question, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? I would also want to hand them those little bracelets that were handed out at one of the Quake-cons that read "WWBD?"

I am certain that there is something odd going on, to which we are not privy, since other SOE games I'm playing have 100 times the content (literally EQ2 has over 2400 known quests) and are not run in such a sophomoric fashion. Statements and press releases consistently ignore facts, reason, and in the case of Mr. Torres reality. Developer response is non-existant both in the forums and in fixing bugs within the game. The paid community representatives consistently ignore issues of great import about game breaking problems. Promises which were made to the players are broken more often than kept. Patches to fix bugs do not fix what was intended, however do introduce new, and frequently game breaking bugs.

If I had one bit of praise to offer the SW:G team it would be this, "At least you are consistent in your failure to meet the needs of the game and the community. At least we know what to expect; that is complete and total failure to capitalize your strengths and mitigate your weaknesses. You have always, and by all evidence appear to be continuing to emphasize your weaknesses in leadership, planning, and implementation. Thank you for being predictable."

Keep up your awesome effort, StarNick. You are doing your part, now if only the devs could do their part... and do it good.

Heya Nick -

You may have noticed I've been somewhat silent on the Commando forums lately...Sadly, we havent had anything new pop up that I can rant and rave about; our issues are still the same...Anyhoot...

New Stuff:

  • Looking forward to the Version 3.0. Should be an entertaining read. I wouldnt wait for the AoE to be fixed, rather, leave a spot in your post to edit in later...

  • There are times when I wish I was the Commando correspondent, then there are times when I realize that if I were,I probably would have a very short "employment" as same. Sadly, the opposite of its intention would happen: My name would become synonomous with long winded rants, flames, and God knows what else, and thus skipped over. Which would do noone any good. I've basically taken the approach here that if I cant say something positive, I'm just not going to say anything.

  • Do what you wish, Nick. There are several of us waiting in the wings, foaming at the mouth wanting to be the next correspondent. Maybe some change will do some good. I'll support whatever decision that you make.

Old Stuff:

  • They've been saying this. As I've said, I'll believe it when I see it.

  • Not surprised.

  • You fruitcake.

I'm in the same situation here. I log on like once or twice a week to set up the weekly space events and fight in em, but that's about the extent of what I do now. I don't even remember the last timeI actually shot something...

And honestly, I don't really think I'm gonna be around much longer.

As far as corr goes, you know we still want you around Stern.
