Oh and what about a little fun if the frogs are still on TC-Bria. Give us something to do beside stare at the forums. Organize and all Commando war. Might take a bit of work but just let all the commandos make Master commando templates and have a big "flam fest" no pun intended. Hehe.

To be honest it appears that the devs are "planning to plan*", the fact that zero lines of code have beenwritten isnot a great sign.Iassumethey are waiting for ourreaction to the documents. Since the vast majority of devs are working on JTL and that will not let up until late next month (if all goes well) which puts us in the holiday season and those delays. I really can't see the combat sandbox hitting beforeDecember '04 or Jan '05 sincewe allknow they will have to do fixes for JTL after launch.

i think if the devs started posting and joining in on the boards, there wouldn't be the levels of frustration that there are - even if we had to wait as long for everything. If they DID decide to change their posting policy they WOULD get severely harrassed to begin with but things would soon settle down as people started to realise that they didn't have to jump on every red post with their complaints as soon as it appeared.
As an analogy, a visible police force is a sign of a moral society, an invisible one is a sign of corruption in high places.

While I can understand the Dev's stance on posting (hell I would be scared too) it will never get any better until they do start posting (and not just stupid little joking fluffcrap or canned "we are looking into it", "soon" lines).
It has been said a million ways by a million poster but it still holds true - people want to be informed, if you do not fill this need they start to think you are dishonest, evil, a jerk, etc.
I am fully aware that communciation to the masses needs to be well crafted or it can turn into a train wreck but if it takes them this long to draft a communication about something they have done so much work on, they need some help.
Also - the site sounds cool Garvin.
