I have lost almost all hope.
I will not be getting JTLS - I may be wrong but I don't think it is gona have legs (sure it may be fun for a couple weeks but that will be about it). I have zero faith that it will enhance the game as a whole and intergrate with the ground game very well. Like I said I may be wrong (and I hope I am).
My main 'issue' with the CB/CR doc's are that the corr's are gona get burned on this whole thing. Garvin has got us all thinking he has been to the mountain and come down with the answer to all our prayers (no offense Garvin) and I am sure what he saw at the summit is what he claims it to be.
My fear is that they are gona 'drop the ball' on the CB/CR just like they have on almost everything else in this game and the corr's are gona look like jerk's or SOE fanboys for talking highly of it (no fault of their own).
I don't want to sound negative but it seems the Dev's don't care about what people think. They have to know that every day they delay the CB/CR doc's the more hope people loose for this game. Sure they have a lot of work with JTLS, the day to day and all that but the way they handle things (silence) does not help the situation.
All I know is that if this goes bad, Garvin you better turn back into the fit throwing, pushy, demanding person you used to be (once again no offense, you are a great corr - just not as angry as you used to be).

You can use a joystick throughout all levels of training. And since everyone will master pilot eventually and since there are only 3 templates to choose from, I think space combat will be much more balanced than the ground game.

Although I too am going crazy for the combat revamp, I've decided to try to focus my energy elsewhere while we wait and wait...I'm donig the Marks quests in Tat, just got Rebel Colonel (yay! maybe it will be useful one day), collecting some cash, and trying suicidal missions just for the heck of it (like pillowing into the nightsister fortress all by my lonesome just to see how long I live). Anything to keep me preoccupied. hehe.

Ive already lost hope and retired, but i did have a question to fire at the JTL beta guys.
I was taking a look at the friday feature on getting started as various pilots, and the impression i got is that all of your performance in flight is primarily based on your skill level, and secondarily based on the ship youre flying. does actual ability to use a joystick play into it at all? or is it pretty much youre not anythnig unless youre a master pilot with aTIE advanced or Bwing? I would really like to know that one because it will determine whether i buy the game or not.
As of the current moment, what the Devs have said about this being "twitch based" is completely true. And if you ever played XvT or XWA, then some of the tricks that worked those games are still quite useful. Thats all I'll say for now, so I won't break the NDA. ![]()

Hehe, be skill-level it means your personal skills, not your avatar's (think that doesn't break the NDA, as it's been stated in public on several occasions.)
