No they switch cause one hits harder than the other not for whats fun. People see numbers and get excited. If indeed weapons are being treat as melee which is a bug, it will get fixedthen some of these people will then move classes again. /shrug makes me odds to me I dont really care hehe.

A week? it took me Two and a half weeks to get it. What sucked is as soon as i get novice and buy my weapons the next day they patch it. Which is cool but i had to buy new weapons

It's not that I and a lot of us that flirted with Commando will abandon the class or not see it for what it is. Commando is a great support class...which finally came to its own.

Those of you that say the class can still get owned, that is true for any person out there. BH are some of the best fighters out there. Commandos are supposed to run up and look for the biggest threat and neutralize it. In the process he will probably die. (A smart move would be not to lead off with the heavy weapons and just use a marksman weapon until you can size up your enemy.)

Pistoleer was just a dable for me until the class was fixed. Eventually the Pistoleer specials will get fixed, but that class is just not for me.

hmmmm...
I haven't seen that much of new commandos..

most people who see me come up to watch me wreck havoc, and some of the older commandos come up very conveniently to teach me the skills I need, when I need them =^_^=

I became novice commando I think three-four days before the patch... had been working towards it for around three-four weeks...
master marksman: ~ 2 weeks. (biggest problem wasranged support IV).
Unarmed IV: ~1 week.
novice commando: ~1 week.

They can join if they want, I've been working my commando character since June. If they nerf us, great, these guys we'll see how we felt. The hard work and crud we had to go through.

But that's part of the game. People want to join what's fun. It was CH, Pistoleer, Rifleman and other classes that were blowing people away, and people rode that. But if they keep getting owned by a smarter and more prepared class, then there's no way they should complain.

And so far, all the commandos before the patch I worked with, were nice and great people to chat with. Always looking out for each other, when it comes to punks that just begs u to teach them and doesn't tip or thank you, screw them. They should pay for the training just like I did and most of you did.

LOL, the term "jumping on the bandwagon" is ridiculous, just becuase you become a Commando when Commando's suck doesn't make you "hardcore" or "elite" it makes you stupid. A TON of people always wanted to go for Commando, then they found out the entire class was broken. I was one of those people, after SoE annouced that they were fixing the weapons I picked up the Unarmed Brawler and got Novice Commando. I was Novice Commando 10 days before the big patch came, that doesn't make me a "bandwagoner" it makes me smart for not playing a broken class.

So if there was no mention of change to the weapons until it all of a sudden went live, would you have been a commando before or after the weapon change? ....That's right, after.......you only picked up commando because of the change....if we were never fixed you would have never been a Commando...that makes you a bandwaggon jumper.

Well over all i agree with you but how are you going to tell the diffrence between power gamers and people like me that wanted to be a commando and arejust now getting master marksman so i can get in the commando tree, are you going to tell me you willnot train me bacause you think i am a fair weather fan powergamer, justbacause it took me 2 months to get master marksman andi happen to be comming into the commando tree just as it gets fixed by the Dev's. That ain't right.

Personally i agree that people comming in are just comming in to commando for power, but only SOME of them. Before the game came out i was wanting to go commando. I have seen people switch to commando for the power, the number of commandos is quickly increasing with people who will leave once people start getting anoyed at there being too many commandos that are doing great DMG, we get nerfed, or getting disarming shot all the time and these people will leave, and people who truely want to be a commando jsut to be a commando will stay or keep trying to get there. I imagine there will be power gammers getting to master then a few weeks later something happens and carbineer somehow becaomes the all powerful class and they switch, there will be powergamers who go for anything that can beat everything else. I just hope that poeple don't find exploits to use with commando that cause us to egt nerfed to where we were when the game started. But i guess we have to wait and see...

Xytroncore, maybe you missed the part where I said I always wanted to go for Commando. Before I got the game, I planned on going for Commando, the second I learned there was a Commando proffesion I knew that is what I would be.

But, using my brain, I concluded that taking on the 2nd most difficult class, which was the most bugged and worthless class in the game at launch would be the dumbest possible move I could have ever made in my entire life. Therefore I deciceded to wait and see if the weapons and issues would be resolved. Then I heard "weapons being fixed" from people. The Dev's never stated how much of an improvement would be made. I didn't care, as long the weapons were somewhat functional then I would be satisfied.

I wanted to be a Commando from the get go and planned on becoming one since day one. Hoping on the bandwagon? LOL, try not wasting my time and money on a broken class.

it does make u wonder how there are so many, because when i started the game i did not have good equipment for a while , and the unarm 1-4 is not that easy to get. it took me a total of 6 weeks to get commando.

I for one, wanted to be a commando from the get-go, but because of you "veterans" Im now supposedly a bandwagon jumper. Heres how:

The first day I picked up this game, I looked in the little guide about all of the elite proffesions. One of the classes that caught my eye was commando. I thought, "Hey the rebellion could use a commando, I'll be that." So I head over to these forums to find out some information about the class I had chosen. Well, low and behold, the first thread I open happens to be about those considering the jump to this profession. What was in this thread? A NOOB asking whether he should join the proffession, and 20+ replies from desperate forsaken commandos flaming him for even considering it based on how broken the class was.

After reading said thread, and several others just like it, I decided it would be best to wait on xp'ing any commando skills, so I went to work on smuggler/pistoleer until commando got fixed. After all, that was the advice all of you "veterans" gave me and others like me.

Now I come back to proffession I originally wanted anyway, and Im told Im some bandwagon jumper who just wants to be uber!?! That definitely isnt the case, and I dont think it is wise to treat all new commandos with disgust. That would be an unfortunate smear on the players of a class that until this time have been held in the highest regards for their perseverance and dedication. If someone demands training, then dont train. But if someone is polite and asks for training, why turn them away? On my way to mastering smuggler, I was bankrupted because I had to goto trainers for skills very few others had. Im sure all of you vets' have experienced similar costs on your way to mastering commando. So why force others to endure one of the most unenjoyable aspects of the game just so they can advance in a class that finally is "fun" to play? It just doesn't make much sense to me. Anyway, thats my two cents on the issue - feel free to flame on.
