Thread: good armor for pvp
The pricing on my server is ridiculous, 45k and 75k for post patch flame throwers.
Luckily master ws I know makes them just as good if not better for cheaper.
I rather like lerk's prices 15k for a flame thrower 15k for a har 10-13k for charged weapons
And they're all top of the line stuff, the flame thrower I bought from him killed the ones I bought from fiku, and origins told me his stats and lerk's were better.
sweet if the server ever starts working i'll head that way
thanks for the tip
oh man i'm starting to talk to myself this is bad
Marine/ST (faction armors) or Composite - but not a full set
These provide complete resistance just be sure to have them sliced to lower encomb
Helm, Leg, Boots and an Ubese shirt......all pieces but the shirt sliced.
Here is why. Ubese shirt no encomb and is Light Armor no durability as well but no special resistances. Acts as re-inforced clothing......It's an armor'd shirt.
For planned pvp you should visit a doc and get buffs .....your health and action pools and their support stats can all be taken up by a doc with proper skills/equipment. Health more than Action of course and they can't do anything for your mind.....Doc buffs last for 60-90minutes btw. Also for planned pvp you should have some pixie spice this will take your health and action up even more and again health more than action.
So your buffed pools before battle is approximately thus assuming say a 900 base in all three.
Health ~2400-3000
Action ~2200-2500
Mind ~900
You can see strategically where you'd want armor.
Helm is most important preventing max dmg from eyeshots and headshots. Legs/boots second in priority preventing max dmg from legshots/fire kd. Chest/arms/gloves least important only have to worry about body shots. Health and Action can easily be healed during a fight but Mind cannot.
You may ask why not a full set? A full set of these heavier armors can completely cripple your support stats and you'll end up doing more damage to your pools with your own specials than the enemy can. Usually, people cannot even equip a full set (yes even once sliced) without spice or other aids.
Doing a partial set provides max protection to the most vital areas while not crippling your offensive capabilites. You would still be viable in battle unbuffed and be able to equip your armor in a moments notice. However, unbuffed your biggest weakness is a high damage random special landing on your health pool. This actually has the greatest possiblity for a random pool special as well unfortunately. But people tend to avoid the random pool specials in pvp.
Hope that helped or gave some ideas at least.
That's better then guapos and I'd pay 15k for that quality over 3 more max dmg and .2 sec slower and pay 75k on police's crappy pricing.
Read the guide. It's all about resistances.
Make sure to look at what it is and is not good against.

I can tell you right now that ubese shirt is absorbing NO damage. First of all to absorb damage you need to actually have a condition with which to absorb with. 0 Condition or no condition = no damage absorbed. If the Ubese shirt really did offer the protection that it displays I'd be making them by the thousands. I've tested it and when shot in the chest with the shirt on there is no damage absorbed from any weapon type used.
I have Ubese now. (Used to have Padded)
Since the FT is considered as a melee weapon, it also helps when you're up against NPC's too.
Composite isvery good, but very costly.
I think a full set on Bria costs about 150-250K depending on quality where good Ubese is like 100K.

I bought my FTfrom Guapo for 24K the day the patch went live.
415-808 4.7
(Prices and damage may have changed. Please check his shop for current prices/stats.)
If I'm not mistaked,Guapo's FT has the second best stats on Bria. (I've checked with at least 6 or 7 other Master Weaponsmiths yesterday)
Police makes the best damageFT, but is also the most expensive. (Damage difference was like 8, I believe, and price is triple.)
Dunno for sure since EVERYONE is looking for a FT now, and most of the time the vendors only have them for a short time before selling out.
