You can have the bonuses the same way the rest of us melees get them. When you're wielding your melee weapon (in your case, unarmed). I lose my bonuses if I pick up a pistol or rifle (plus gain the 2.5x penalty), and I'm a master melee. So why should you be special?
The melee damage modifiers were designed to go with the effective range of the weapon rifle>carbine>pistol. Look at the commando flamer/har the accuracy mods and limits on specials define them as extreme close quarters weapons why are they being viewed as most effective from extreme distance? If you support the 2.5xp melee mod then I'm sure you'll support extending the range of the commando specials to 64m and giving the flamer/har their best accuracies at 50-64m. Maybe you should start a petition for this.1) Our specials have to be within 16 meters from target. No other proffesion except melee has to have that, and they dont have the 2.5x mod in there proffesion.
You also have 3 times the range we do, and higher damage, and an incurable DOT. If you choose not to use specials, then you have 10 times the range we do.
So no, our situations are not similar in any way.
See previous statement, furthermore water can immediately cure any fire dot just FYI you seem uninformed. Maybe you should start another petition to make our dot incurable since well water shouldn't really put out napalm.3) Instead of the mod on flame thrower they should have reduced the range at which it is affective to say 40 meters or less. The DOT should take into account armour so that if wearing full composite you dont get much damge over the time.
I can't help but notice that you don't mention that some professionshould be able to remove that DOT.
See second statment you should really do some research before trolling. So do you other proffesions truely think gimping one proffesion is worth all this?
I can only speak for melees. And I say yes. When heavy weapons were changed to "ranged", I lost my defensive ability to absorb damage from them. I get hit twice as hard after the patch from these weapons. Why doesn't that bother you? It sure bothers me.So now I hit you twice as hard as well. That brings things back to a more even level. Sure, there are issues with the solution, but on my end it was a HUGE nerf and then a HUGE buff bringing things back to a semblance of normal.
We wanted our weapons changed from melee to ranged not to spite your ability to absorb them it was due to the poor rifleman gettin hit for 2.5x damage from a ranged weapon. So this in effect saved them but hindered you. Again maybe you should start a petition to get it changed back be sure to look for votes from the rifleman forum.
So here's your petition to do list:
-extend commando specials to 64m and giving flamer/har good accuracy mods at these distances
-make our fire dots incurable
-get weapons changed back to melee so you can absorb damage
Yes we have do have melee 4 in our skill progression. My point is anyone with melee shouldnt have the 2.5xmod on them. If as a brawler you were required to pick up a skill thats not from the brawler tree wouldnt you want some benifit from that.
That means a brawler who picks up a rifle shouldnt have it. You shouldnt be very accurate or anything like that but the penalty shouldnt be there.
It means if a rifle man wants to remove that from his skill he should have to pick 4 level of brawler also.
I know you will never see the point of anyones arguement because your mind is set. All I have to say is if someone wants to fight and they have fist and you have a gun ummmm the gun wins 9 times out of 10. Its just a fact of life.
I do understand brawlers are upset because they have very few options when attack from afar. Well you picked that proffesion. You are a brawler or swordsman pikeman what ever. If they took the unarmed requirement from our proffesion I would be happy with the way things are.
