1st of all, referring to the comment about not weilding dual rocket launchers, hmmm........I am an eight foot alien covered in fur and live in a far away galaxy, who is to say that gravity and our sheer strength would not make that possible. No reason why advanced weapon design could not negate the kickback from a normal rocket launcher. Maybe better suited would be a heavy weapon with dual rocket launcher tubes (ok, so I may be plagerising a little from a certain high tech movie trilogy).

As far as being able to lay aside your heavy weapon to smack someone when they walk up, makes sense. Would you just stand there getting hit around the head while you wait for your gun to reload ? why not have some kind of defense move like trying to brain the agro by smacking him over the head with your flamer or acid, nice and heavy and could make a nice animation while you wait for flame1 to recharge.
