hehe in all honesty i woudlve preffered the clone rifle as our master weapon

back on topic:
One thing I want to make clear is that the innate armor break (aka Armor Piercing) HAS to... let me say that again, HAS TO be a MASTER BOX perk.
Remember the old times when commando was really nothing more than flamethrower box4 and the rest of the proffession and its weapons were utterly useless. Everyone dabbled in flamethrower because it was the heaviest damage weapon in the game and the skillpoint cost was relatively cheap for that buttload of damage.
Result? all chs and all other proffessions got the box4 of flamer. Cries and whines came forth and who got the nerf bat? Commando.
That is why we need the AP to be AT master box. The skillpoint drain is too big at that point and the returns for getting a master box perk that will only work with commando weapons are not very good considering that with the same skillpoints they couldve dabbled in half of another elite proffession and gotten really good specials and stats.
Consider also the accuracy issue. Master commando accuracy is 145. who will he be facing? peeps with 250 defense that have eaten +100 defense food and likely will be using COB or force aura...both of which give +500 defense mods. And this is before armor mitigation.
A master elite of whatever facing such defenses will likely do 500 damage out of 1000 ...500 being mitigated by ranged defense mods vs accuracy mods check. Then that 500 would get mitigated by armor.. so say another half is sliced out.. so 250 damage.
Master commando AP in this case would inflict about400 damage out of 1000 since 600 damage will be mitigated by the much higher ranged defenses than the master commando accuracy mods (plus we have less DPS per weapon to begin with!). But when it comes to the armor mitigation, the AP ability pushes 325 damage through to hit the target.
Result: Other proffession: HigherDPS but every hit striking for 250 total. Commando: medium DPS but each hit actuallystriking for 325 damage.
Other proffession can match the extra commando damage by using debuff attacks and other crowd controlling specials commando itself does not have. True commando can dabble in those proffessions but in the end he will end up with LOWER defenses and LOWER accuracy (which lowers overall damage btw) than other elites dabbling in other elites.
And more importantly, sinceAP isa MASTER BOX perk that works ONLY WITH COMMANDO WEAPONS then you wont see master riflemen with T21's headshotting people with AP on it.. cause only a heavy weapon wielded by a master commando can do that.
