Commando Archive
Thread: Hi. This is how you get Master Commando. In a week.
Oh, and if a Dev reads this... Newsflash. Having high level mobs that run slower than players = XP at no risk. I never died on Rori
Right there is basically a cry for change to the devs, something I bet you would have never said had you not mastered commando.
And yes I know this has been said before, but no need to keep mentioning it over and over again.

Getting to Master Commando in 1 Week is only possible if:
- you have a friend supplying you with medical items and grandmaster made weapons
- you have absolutely no real life and grind 16 hrs/day
This is partially incorrect. If you make your pulls right, you don't need any medical items. You shouldn't have to heal yourself because you shouldn't be hit.
Secondly, I made master commando in less than a week with about 3-4 hours grind/day. It's called efficiency. Why pull two levaisqualls when its possible to tag 8-10 in one pull.. 10x1871 = 18710XP !~!!
So in short, yes it may take someone 16hr/day to be master commando in a week, but it can take much less time if you play efficiently and well.
This is how yousolo-grind from Novice to Master Commando in a few days. You'll need Pistoleer for Body Shot 2.
This strategy will work for mastering any ranged profession quickly... As long as you have a couple DoTs.
The Layout
1.) Cruise to Rori - To whichever city is least populated on your server.
2.)Group with apet and let him stay in town for the XP bonus.
3.) Get 2 missions in the same direction: "Deranged Squall or Midnight Vir Vur" missions only. Why? Keep reading.
3a.) Don't get Leviasquall missions (there isan exception to this rule, at the end of the article). Only 2-3 of them will spawn before the lair is tapped out. They're not worth your time. You need mobs that mass spawn.
3b.) Deranged Squalls and Midnight Vir Vurs are decent xp and they always mass spawn at their lairs. The key: they're just as slow as Leviasqualls.
4.) Run to your missions.
5.) Once you get to your mission lair, do a quick search within 200m from it in all directions to look for another Deranged Squall or Midnight Vir Vur lair. Waypoint them. This will help you maximize your XP.
The Kill Strategy - Launcher Pistol
Quick note: The basic strat is this: You're dotting/shooting every mob around you, while running a circular pattern around the lair. When every mob you see is DoTted and chasing you, attack the lair for a few shots to get more mobs to spawn. Then dot/shoot them as they spawn. Basically, you're letting your DoTs do the work for you, and raking in a stream of XP. Here are the details.
1.) TAB to get a mob up, and start running in a semi-wide circle around the lair. You'll get the hang of this in awhile.
2.) Health Shot 1 (Repeat if missed) while running.
3.) Health Shot 2 (Repeat if missed) while running.
4.) Hit themob with a couple normal shots from your gun. If you don't hit a mob with at least 1 non-DoT shot, you won't get any XP for that mob. Also, don't useBodyShot, or you'll run out of HAM quickly. You're going to be shooting nonstop, and BodyShot won't speed anything up.
5.) Once the current mob is DoTtedand normal shot, TAB to bring up the next mob. Repeat Steps 2-4 on that mob.
6.) Continue doing this, and never stop running.
7.) Once every mob around you is dotted, take 3-4 shots at the lair to get more to spawn.
8.) Keep dotting/shooting mobs as they spawn, and continue to shoot the lair periodically when mobs stop spawning. You'll have 4-10 mobs chasing you around at any one time.
9.) Eventually, the lair will be "tapped out", and will stop mass spawning mobs. At this point, finish off any mobs that haven't died yet. Most mobs will have died from the DoTs.
9a.) Sometimes you'll hit a mob for some low damage healthshots. Make a mental note of this, and expect to have to re-dot him once the current dots wear off.
9c.) This is important if you want to maximize your XP. Don't attack the lair until it hits the point where it can't be repaired. Never attack the lair once it's down to about 40% health. You need this lair to refresh itself if you want a constant flow of XP.
10.) At this point, you'll probably have between 15 and 30 corpses littered around a smoking lair. The best part: your HAM bar will still be near full.
11.) Now if you were successful in"The Layout - Step 5", run to the nearby lair you found, and repeat this tactic on that lair. Once you've "tapped" it out, come back to the current lair. It will be at 100% health again, with mobs waiting outside to be attacked.
12.) This tactic works really well once you find a few lairs near each other. There is no downtime at all. You'll never get hit, with the exception of the occasional warping mob. Once you find a good spot, it can last all day. I've spent 6 hours at a spot, doing constant kiting, before I got tired and quit.
Leviasqualls
Leviasqualls give 1.8-1.9k XP per kill, and they're slow. They are the perfect mob to grind XP on. The downside is this: There are two types of Leviasquall lairs. The first is the kind you get at a mission terminal. They usually only spawn 2-3 mobs total before the lair is tapped out. The second kind of Leviasquall lair, is nothing short of an XP goldmine. These lairs mass spawn Leviasqualls, and if you're lucky, they last a few hours.
How can you tell which Leviasquall lair is worth grinding at? Lairs with 1-2 Leviasqualls spawned outside = crap lair. Don't stop. Lairs with 4-5 Leviasqualls spawned = mass spawning lair. Stop and grind here as long as it lasts. Never kill the lair. Always run a couple hundred meters away to refresh the lair when necessary.
These "worthwhile" Leviasquall lairs are pretty rare/random, which is why I suggest getting Squall/VirVur missions instead.... while keeping an eye out for a good Leviasquall lair.
That's about it. Using this tactic, I did the entire Heavy Acid Rifle line in 1 day of grinding. I imagine someone with more time/patience than me can go from the character selection screen to Master Commando in a week. Have fun in Rori kids.
Oh, and if a Dev reads this... Newsflash. Having high level mobs that run slower than players = XP at no risk. I never died on Rori.
no go to LOK kill snorbals I made flamethrower 4 in 3days.
Granted im a chef and constatly was buffed ![]()
I got Master Commando from leviasqualls and ill be honest, i found a trick that anyone can use to get unlimited levisquall form any leviasquall lair, mission lairs included.
First get yourself one Levisquall mission from the mission terminals and head out there. When you get there you will note that there are always 2 levias guarding the nest and you cna usually get two to pop out form shooting it. Basically attack and begin the bleed process on the guards while running around the nest avoiding them. tap the nest to see whos home and get another levia to pop out. Bleed this new Squall and then attack the nest until one more pops out. bleed him.
At this point DO NOT DESTROY THE NEST. Have the bleeding squall follow you away form the nest approx 300m (the min is 250, but i always did 300 to be sure). At this point i usually was finishing off the last levia and was ready to go back, if not go to the 300m distance from the nest and come back.
Upon your return there will be 2 new squall and the nest will be at full health. Rinse and repeat. I used the same nest for two days, getting nearly 2 million exp from just one nest.
The only drawback i can see to this is that it may get boring (grinding generally is) and you will not net yourself any extra money from doing multiple missions. I personally prefered this because i felt the time i spent walking could be used for grinding!
Enjoy!

Dude you have it easy. it's not so easy if you're not pistoleer. we have no knockdown. try to start a new thread with someone who isn't pistoleer. nor medic. try just regular commando.
Why would anyone be stupid enough to just be a regular commando? They give you skill points rather than professions for a reason. If you're to boorish to use the tools you've been given to make the best of your situation then go back toa game likeEQ where the devs are kind enough to tell you what your character should look like for you.
My question what towns on rori, what general direction, and distance are these Levisquall lairs?
I checked out the other 2 cities besides the reb outpost and went 2-4K in each direction and found no lairs.
Also the mission terminals dont give me any squall missions
Try holding a HAR or a flamethrower in your hands.
Friend had a laser rifle and got one.
nevertheless, a new player will *never* archieve master commando in a week.
this is only possible if you know your class well, know which mobs to pick and how to take them down.
plus, you have to be supplied with very good weapons.
and seriously, why do you think did it take the commandos so long to actually have some people master this profession?
right, because the guns weren't available or gave the wrong exp.
so it is becoming easier to become a master commando *sigh*
besides, grinding is very boring but efficient... like in every other MMORPG, too.
