EGAD! Stouker Assault Rifle + Disposable = Brilliant idea...
Here goes:
2 Assault Rifles, 1 which is a dedicated disposable (MDWS or something, razor's idea for the 1 gun w/ disposable ammo pack thingy a while back)...other is the non-diposable (been said many many times no need to say it here)
BUT...the disposable Assault Rifle....The Hvy Assault Rifle a la Stouker Assault Rifle...
HVY Ap rating, and massive firepower....have its dmg type some odd little damage...either cold or stun (since plasma isnt a dmg type)....similar to the HPBC...but its not a cannon, its a rapid assault gun of mayhem and ungodly destruction....sheers through anything, but its limited and after several rounds, it has a considerable cooldown (rather than a cooldown per shot, maybe every 5-10 rounds have a cooldown? of consecutive fire, without any pause in combat)
However to balance things out...this would have a lower charge on ammo packs and more expensive...but serve as a more rapid disposable rather than big hvy guns of ungodly destruction...

How about putting a grenade launcher on the assault rifle that shortens the delay after tossing a grenade?

How about making it like the rifles in Republic Commandos... modular... Rifle has three modular pices which changes how it works... 1) Assault Rifle, 2) Grenade Launcher, 3) Sniper. (Or atleasts thats how the game previewers say it works).
