Thread: If you could change the Commando titles, what would you make them?
Please... The correct spelling is Grenadier.... Everytime I see Grenadeer I think of red cherry juice or something to do with a deer .... (lol)
Anyway, I understand where ordnance (basically military weapons) and not ordinance (direction or command of an authoritative nature.. root word ordain) came from. Taken from Prima's strategy guide, "[commandos] also experiment with various effects of the weapons, shaping charges or adding fragmentation sleeves to the device."I assume that in beta commandos were to make weapon powerups of a sort. Since this is no longer the case a title change is highly appropriate.
Titles ?
Grenadier --- Grenade certifications
Artilleryman--- Heavy weapon Certifications
Pyrotechnician --- Flamethrower line
???? --- should we even keep the HAR as it is ???? Please add in a line with launcher pistolstyles and a terrain negotiation bonus (a combat medic, basically a lab technician, can run up a hillquicker than a special ops commando ???Every time I think of this I picture a fat Green Beret pausing on the hill and telling the combat medic to go ahead... ) Maybe an E-Webrepeating blaster tripod certification ? If so hopefully it has a decent long range accuracy and low accuracy short range. Just asking for a bit of balance... IMO

Besides the other problems with the Commando profession, one of the most stupid problems are the titles of the Commando.
Field Tatics IV (Artilleryman) - Well this is the only one in my opinion fits nicely, specializing with grenades is appropriate with this title...I say keep it.
Heavy Support Weapons IV (Expert Commando) - Maybe the dev's were too lazy to think of another profession title...But this isnt the only profession with a "Expert" title at a random IV skill. I was thinking more of "Heavy Supportman"...but I'll live with Expert Commando.
Flamethrower Specialization IV (Grenadeer) - The main problem...how someone who specializes with flamethrowers obtains the title "Grenadeer" is beyond me. So some that I'm thinking..."Flamethrower Specialist" <--The worst, "Pyromaster" hehe, or maybe "Pyro Specialist"...something along the lines of "Pyro" would make me happy.
Acid Rifle Specialization IV (Ordnance Manufacturer) - Most people would immediatley think, "what the hell is an ordnance manufacturer...a weaponsmith title?" Well the definition of ordnance is "military supplies including weapons, ammunition, combat vehicles, and maintenance tools and equipment". Sooo...why not, I'll deal with that one.
So what do you guys think?
Field Tactics-Oops..Darn..Clone
Heavy Weapons-Miss Machine
Flamethrower- One Special Wonder
Acid Rifle- Special...darn...STILL sucks
I would change some and then just switch some around.
Field Tatics IV (Artilleryman) - Grenadier (Spelled correctly!)
Heavy Support Weapons IV (Expert Commando) - Demolition Expert
Flamethrower Specialization IV (Grenadeer) - Pyro Technician
Acid Rifle Specialization IV (Ordnance Manufacturer) - Chenetic Specialist
