Every one is doing space. If you go to the Shipwright or the Pilot forums they move about as fast as the treade forums.
Give it time for those profesions to simma down then people will return to the rest 
Remember Pilot requires no skill points so every one (almost every one) is trying it

The fact that there are other non-work in progress games such as GTA:SA, Halo2, & Half-Life 2 helps too.

That's no excuse!
I've been doing space missions, school, and working 10 hour shifts all week, yet I've found time to come make an ass of myself, haven't I?
Side note, I've made one of my rare threads that didn't start off with total insanity!
Read my somewhat-sane idea for factional squadron theme parks to pass the time while we wait for activity around here to resume normal pace.

Sadly there's been quite a few people ona few serversmoving on to other online games.
I know I'll probably get 1* for thisand probably flamed too, but.......... I think the old saying "The grass is always greener....." has reared it's ugly head.
Lots of people have been complaining about the game for various reasons and I understand those reasons.
I believe that the grass will not be greener, it's just something new, yeah sure this game has it's issues and so will the other ones.
Like anything else you buy,this gameneeds maintenance, things don't last forever. If you have a flat tyre do you sell your car? no, you leave it in the capable hands of someone who can fix it. I believe SOE are fixing the game and things associated with it (that's a plug for Garva and the cool icons)
We also need to understand that coding can be fickle, you change one little thing and it can cause havoc, that's why after we get some changes to the game we sometimes get an issue somewhere else, it's just a fact of programming.
Look at JTL it's an awesome addon to the game, lots of people have said "Yeah, but it's a money making thing" well DUH! SOE is a company! On the other hand are they charging extra per month for the addon? no! Ok I got a "but we had to pay for JTL disk" ummmm, did ya want it for free? and.........Oh never mind I think you know where i'm going with this bit.
I have one more thing to say about this game......

There's just nothing to post about, other than some random bugs, which we all know about. JTL is already here. Combat Rebalance and GCW Revamp aren't until sometime in 2005.
I get alot of slowdowns at work time to time, so I sometimes check up on the forums.
Even the normally very busy GCW Forum has been slow and... tame, lately.

I agree...this is star wars...its unique...the only other real MMO i can think of thats similiar is PlanetSide, and thats one huge online FPS (only advantage to it is that its persistent, but i get more enjoyment out of Halo 2 heh)
I never was big with the fantasy stuff like EQ and now EQ2 or WoW...I love space science fiction, and always will. EQ2 looks cool then and now, sounds cool sometimes (hearing some positive things about their quests)...but it isn't star wars...
SWG is unique, and because of that im sticking with it...besides...id take an x-wing over an elven mace any day!

prob is that with every patch this game seems to et less and less starwars.....
