what happened on bria?

The short version is that They banned most of the JEDI Knights for exploiting FRS when the CSR's had told them that they were not exploiting. Last night 3 MAJOR imp guild held a silent protest in theed and they were ported to 0,0 lok and when they reassembled in groups of for in every star port protesting, the CSR's Banned or suspended most of the members of all three guilds.

LOL its hard to miss a target for release when you don't make one. SOE has not told us when this CU will happen only that the public will not be involved until after the holidays. For all our wait and all our frustartion we got one post ....... THATS IT.... one stinking post with very limited and vague information.

I would really like to know if this game is going to be fundamentally different after the CU or if it will continue to be Jedi Wars and everbody else just ducks in the pond for FRS ranking.

hmmm when does Matrix come out again?

dude trying to expect something from SOE is like trying to lick your own balls.

No matter how much you bend to try, you end up with a cracked spine.

'Foolish boy. Don't you know anything about Fantasia? It's the world of human fantasy. Every part, every creature of it, is a piece of the dreams and hopes of mankind. Therefor, it has no boundaries.'
'But why is Fantasia dying then?'
'Because people have begun to loose their hopes and forget their dreams. So the nothing grows stronger. It's the emptiness that's left. It's like a despair, destroying this world. And I have been trying to help it.'
'But why?'
'Because people who have no hopes are easy to control. And whoever has control has the power'

Woah there Chief!!!!! Combat "Upgrade"?????

I hate the new lingo. The developers are doing the "spin room shuffle" there. Reminds me of all the "Weapons of Mass Destruction," "Coalition of the Willing," etc.buzzwords that have been rotating all over the U.S. for the last several years.

Combat was broke when the game came out. "Combat Fix" is appropriate.

Subsequent attempts by the developers to fix combat have screwed the pooch and left everything REALLY unbalanced. "Combat balance" or "Combat re-balance" is appropriate.

In fact, "Combat restructure," "Combat repair," "Combat reorganization," and "Combat renovation" would all be wholly appropriate.

However, combat "UPGRADE"?!?!?!?!? Fixing that broke-ass stuff the developers never quite got right is NOT an upgrade. That's like breaking a kid's toy car, glueing it back together, and then telling the kid "Here I UPGRADED it for you."

I think all players should refuse to call it a combat "upgrade." Instead it should be "FTF"....Fixing the FUBAR.

normally, i would not endorse a message as such, but i totally agree. combat upgrade is cushy, so as not to imply something is broken, but this game has serious ground issues. forget about names, just fix it already. hows the sandbox stuff comming garvin?

actually it IS a new expansion. just a free one. its such a huge system change that they are actually going to beta test it. give em the time they need, or when it hits, we'll be back at squatre one again.

waht they needed to do was have staggared releases, like work on one profession at a time...or work on balancing them first w/ new weapons and abilities, release that,THEN add new moves, not in one biiiig chunk because...well...it takes TOO long. if the entire team or mst of them works on part one, then we could have at least SOMETHING done this YEAR

i dunno, i expect mini patches and a few basic improvements, but considering the scope of the changes that they are implementing, they could never do one profession at a time. thisisnt like overhaulling image designer. this is entirely redefining how combat professions interact on the battlefield. i recommend working on JTL. its quite involving, and more than enough of a distraction for me, at least.

but its absolutely silly on how they are going to balance, and add new stuff... you need to add teh new stuff, then balance it, although its not already balanced so they need to do that first...its a cycle, pumping out a major patch with teh "fixes" is imperrative because many are pissed on how jedi kill things, commando sucks, and whatnot, FIX the game first THEN implement new things... It will be a lot easier to balance if you already have it balanced rather than doing two at once. balancing new things take extensive testing, balancing takes a lot less, doing both is just wrong

i agree with you in part, but balancing just means equalizing the same system. they are instating an entirely new combat system. they should have "balanced" it back last december when people first noticed the combat problems. they never should have started patching in new material and overlooking that kind of stuff. now, with the stuff theyve added, the combat problems have become too big for them to handle by just tweaking the numbers of the current system.

think in their mindset for a second. these are people who, when they thought the corvette was too easy, just filled all the decks with SBD to make it tougher. thats not a solution. they should have redesigned all the enemies. that would have made it tougher. finally they realised their mistake, but their plate was filled with other problems (JTL).

now, they are tackling this head on- no distractions. this is their one and only focus, and i think thats how it should be. think about what we do know about the CU (i hate that name): Armor will be completely changed. Buffs will be completely changed. each profession is getting tweaked to give EVERYONE a perticular place on the battlefield, and noone will be too strong or too weak. to top it all off, as commandos we finally have a chance to make our voices heard. the best of the best are working on that forum, and they know what problems our profession has. garvin wont rest until each problem is solved, and when the beta starts, we get to add our own feedback.

i think we're on the up and up
