Is anyone else bothered though that our AOE creating mass roots and states is really just an amusement than anything else? I mean, what is the point of having a mass-root when all you use it for is to retreat?

don't use it for retreat. When we get mobbed I'll do a mass stopping shot then start pointing out targets, people get the idea quick enough and we are able to polish off the agro quickly and efficiently.
