Nothing is better then a flame thrower in pve, imo. Stackyour shotson the tough mobs and watch then burn into dust. And after you kill a rancor you'll notice hardly any ham being gone. This is with a pet ofc. Even if a mob has 100% heat resistance, they'll still burn down in the matter of seconds ( much like an at-st ).

Hard to say...depends on how the WS got the tissue...if they bought it themselves, the price of that tissue would need to be weighed in...if they aquired it themselves or got a good deal on it, then that would have to be weighed as well...

I just bought a FT with 890 max and spd of 2.8 (sliced) for around 400K....but I feel I got a really good deal...and the WS is someone I do a lot of business with, so he let me pay what ever I wanted for it....I've seen similar go for 800K....

Im a returning player reactivated my account last month, stopped playing last August. I created a new character on Corbantis and have just mastered Marksman and have gotUnarmed 3, going for commando.

So before I get to involved in becomeinga Commando, I thought I would ask.

All you Commandos out there, is the Commando a fun and affective combat class?

First,

Welcome back

About the Commando in PvP...no, one of the worst classes to take for PvP, especially stand alone. If you add Pistoler or TKM, you can do pretty good.

PVE, against most mobs we can take em down pretty good. Just have to watch the resists on the mobs.

Rocket launchers, Heavy Beam Cannons, etc are not cost effective at all.

I can not, in good concience, recommend anyone going Commando, at least until the combat re-balance comes into play in a few months, and even then, we will just have to wait and see.

I am not giving up on my Commando as of yet, I will put him on the back shelf and just wait and remain hopeful that they will eventually be a fun and exciting class to play. I still have fun with my Commando, just can't PvP with him worth a darn.

I suggest you think about what style of play you like best.......up close and in your face fighting, behind the "tanks" as support, using pets, etc. and then just try out a template that gives you the most of what you want to accomplish.

I had wanted to be a Commando because I had a vision of the commando as being very military like and deadly in a lot of situations, however at the moment they are pretty much one trick ponys. Flame Singe 2, Flame Singe 2, Flame Singe 2......

I don't want to discourage you from your path if you really want to be a Commando, you should ultimately do whats fun for you, and I hope my little bit of advice was helpful to you.

Do you Commandos use Imperial Detonators at all? I've been told they are great for grinding FS so I put some pretty good ones (in my opinion) on my vendor and they aren't selling. If any of you use these please tell me the stats you would be happy with and how much you would pay for a crate. Thanks

Duck before the pitch folks come mate!

Imperial Detonators are fairly easy (well...compared to other grenades) to produce, since they require only 3 factory components opposed to 4 of proton grenades. On Valcyn I have fairly good ones with 3.0 speed and 2.1k max damage

Of course...grenades are changing quite radically on CU, so you'll see more commandoes using them (FS grinders would be your biggest customers atm...)

Since it takes roughly 157,000 units of steel to produce one factory run of grenades (40 crates), as well as 4-5 days of factory time (took me that long with three factories running)...70-100k seems to be the dominant price range for a crate. I have price formula's for grenades, ranged weaponry, and melee weaponry...so all my prices are pretty mathematically in tune with costs, time, and in juxtaposition to other weapons. I sell Imp Dets for around 3.2k credits per stack.

Id expect prices to really drop for them (which is a very good thing!) and more commandoes using them hopefully...

Edit: Made an oopsie in my post (1.1k dmg = 2.1k dmg!)
