Thread: New Title after Max'ing flamethrower
came across this one. =^_^=
I think you meanSchütze.
Grenadier, is a term used in armies even today, and as far as I know, none of the grenadiers I meet in the army carried more grenades than the average soldier.

So because people have no knowledge, we should make it easy for em? ![]()
Ok, I'm reaching back to some old school history channel trivia here, so forgive me if I'm wrong about this.
Originally, grenadiers were grenade-carrying troops. When hand-held grenades first became truly practical for warfare, special units were formed that had the specialized training required to handle and use them. First generation grenades were absurdly dangerous to the user, and needed to be handled by elite troops.
As grenades became safer and more common, they were given to ordinary troops and the term grenadier evolved into an honorary term for an elite unit.
As for the appropriateness of using grenadier for the FT tree, yes, technically it's fine. However, for a profession that has an entire branch dedicated to grenades, it seems silly to use the grenadier title for a flamethrower specialist.
Just my opinion.
