Starnick, have you heard anything on what the damage multiplier is suppose to be. I'm mainly concerned about overkill with it's long zipper since it's damage multiplier has to be compensated to not be lower compared to using other profs specials during the same time period.

Second, I don't won't a zipper on all our specials since that means we have to be "stationery targets" to use them.

Thank god it got postponed. i can finish grinding tomarrow. I'm now 3-4-4-3 and i got all the xp for acid 4 and just a little bit more for the nade tree.


and for the people complaning about the new skills being weak, let me say one thing "At least we have skills right now".

BTW starnick can we get a dev call on why pub 24 is being postpone? where there a plobem with the uploading to the sever like in pub 23, are they changes stuff around like removing the snare rule?

Ok let me resume some facts from TC :


1. New looted Weapons = crap

2. New Specials = crap (still need to use other Prof specials for higher damage multiplier)

3. AOE fixed .....but who cares its anyway useless but for spin groups

4. Grenade stick rate and duration - also the fire dot fix for termal detonator/proton grenades= dunno this needs testing live


Can we really be optimistic ?

We're commandos, we're always optimistic. I've always been, even though we've been destroyed over and over. We're Commandos. We adapt to whatever they throw at us. but NO ONE can disregard the fact that this is dev attention, something Commando has NEVER, in my 667 days as a Commando, seen.

I tested the new weapions and they don't suck. i like the lava becuase it's a radius not a cone.

your rigth about one thing. and i will also like to add that this is the most notes in this pub for commando then in the last 2 years. i can even name the changes.



  • change the look the acid gun fire

  • Change the titles for commando tree

  • Proton rifle start to work

and the first two was from pre CU so we only had 2changes to our class for the first year and a half. proton rifle fix was our biggest change up to now becuase it was the only new gun that commando got in ROTW.

True, true...I was thinking about doing Carbineer/Commando.






Carbs/Commando is just totally awesome. I recently finished grinding out Commando and I can't think of a template more fun than this. I've been having as much fun with Carbs/Commando as I was with Pike/Doc back pre-CU. Theplasma flamethroweris my weapon of choice follwed by the lightning beam and acid stream launcher. I've even to taken to wearing my clone armor while sporting a flamethrower, and I never wore it before now. I found my fun in the game and I can't wait for Pub 24 to go live. You'll have to head back over to Radiant one night for a guild hunt, I'm actually 10x more entertaining now (you'll have to see it to believe it, lol).


Yeah, I can't think of a better or more enjoyable template than Commando/Carbs.

Although I've never been Commando, it was within my initial Template idea. But when I saw the state of the proffesion, I decided to go for Carbineer hehe.

What I mean is, I believe Commandos more-than-deserve this...Publish 24 is your well-earned reward!

Maybe I'll become one once the Revamp is Live?

Don't let the enthusiasm go down because of the delay on Publish 24.

Don't worry about damage, as StarNick wisely stated, I'm sure that now that Commandos got the devs' attention, it's only a matter of (short) time before you get a damage boost (which is very needed).

And by the way, Suppression fire for the carbineer is fixed (or at least it was on beta). I found myself using it frequently- AoE attack (very low damage however), but it has a 2 second snare that hits everythign in a cone, and It can be re-fired as soon as the snare is up to give a perma-snare, and the action cost is just about the same as placed shot.


I know that sounds overpowering, but its not- Here's why.


For one, it does pitiful damage, about 75-200 damage to creatures, when i'd normally be hitting for 500-600.

This skill does NOT work on other players in PVP - The icon still shows up under the modifiers bar by the health, but it does not actually slow other players.

The cone is rather narrow, which is effective when you have to run and you have all the enemies in a line behind you.


So all in all, its a very effective escape skill- Or you can use it to stop the advance of enemies if you have a ranged group behind you firing AoE on an advancing group of enemies. You can hold them off long for other players to get 3 or 4 shots off,


Maybe it was working before, but with non-commando weapons- I have no clue since it is an innate AoE Skill, but it works with commando weapons now anyway, and to great effect.

Anyone know if the weapon alterations will only affect newly crafted weapons?
