Hmm, nice list.

Just wondering, but where on Endor do you find Mereks? I can't find missions for them for whatever reason, and I'm Novice Commando with Flamethrower 2 (if that effects the missions you get).

Wow. Negative feedback on me in commando forum.

LOL. Times have changed.

I thought this was useful information and posted it here.

Guess there is finally a perk to being a CH / master commando wookie. Better pet.

Wookiees do not get any better pets. The taming bonus ONLY lets you tame an agro creatuer 1 lvl higher, has nothing to do with calling pets....this used to be true, but after the big CH patch the wookiee taming bonus is very limited in its usefulness

Sweet, thanks Ivoni, once again you come through with information for your fellow commando's. This profession wouldn't be what it is now without you man thanks.

Eh, they're just out there, lol. Nowhere specific. The only suggestion I have is that you're more likely to find a broader range of enemy types surrounding the Smugglers outpost than you will find at the Research Outpost. Mereks are, however, rather uncommon compared to the rest of the critters out there. It's possible there's a Merek Cave (I wouldn't be surprised if there were), but I don't know precisely where it is.

Does anyone else find it a tad silly you can call the best tank pet in game at 3,2,x,x? As opposed to needing 4,4,x,x or even Master CH.

The Graul Mauler has 9700 H/A/M, 75% Kinetic and Light armor. It also has Intimidate special attack (Target does 50% less damage, affects both melee and ranged attacks)

Then you have the Rancor and Gurreck at 44x4 or 444x. Which doesn't compare as well in the tank section as to a Graul Mauler?

For pure effeciency there is no reason to go higher then 3.2.x.x as a CH. If you want flavor and differnt pets then getting more skills is ofcourse attractive/needed. But I guess the commando profession shares the similare issue, where Flame 4 is most effecient.

5 stars for Ivory! :-)

I'd just like to say there is variety is the spice of life, I don't have two of the same pet. I still use a PSC, but I love my Savage Quenker’s resists (vunerable cold, 40% resists to all others) for PvP and my Graul too. There is a critter around for every situation, and It looks like I’m now going to need one that’s on the player mount list sometime in the future!

Eh... looks like I'm going to have to eat my own words about pet tanking (was never a fan of it only used a droid on a new toon to "tank" as he headshot). But taking my own advice, work smarter not harder (usually used in conjunction with /examine is your friend), I'm going to join the ranks of "pet owners."I guess it'll be kinda nice to be getting XP again... now what to Surrender. **edit**.

Great guide Ivoni.

Actually, a Rancor is a much better pet for PvP, it is **edit** near immune to everything most players use. It also has more HAM and better Damage, granted for your PvE Maulers are probably the better pet

For PvE the dual Graul Mauler team is pretty tough to beat, but you take that tandem into PvP and you will have two large burnt rugs. Their resists to the common attack forms are really low and usually leave them dead. A Rancor, or Gnarled, at 45-50 has much better resists for PvP but leaves you with only 1 pet (masters could have a 2nd pet out). The problem is everyone sees a Rancor and deems you the most needing to die. Best bet is to find some smaller, expendable, poisonous critters to have with you. I would take 3 poisoning pets over 1 rancor.

Think about it this way. First, nobody calls you out since they just see these little critters coming, especially if you send the 3 at different targets. Now, since they only see 1 pet attacking them they do not call for your immediate extinction (a good thing). The team will seperate it's fire amongst the 3, making their medic run around frantically to heal thepeople. You can then step in and flame the now obvious medic. Either way you are still tying up 3 people instead of one.

Ivoni, at least give credit to the person who wrote all this out. This is a list that has been worked on over at the CH board for a few weeks

Honestly DogBlack, he didn't portray it as his own. Admittedly, he didn't cite his source, but this isn't English 101. He could've linked us there, but instead he saved us the trouble by copying and pasting it into the forum WE frequent. If you wrote it, it's a very nice list, 'attaboy. If not... well, what does it really matter in either case?

Thanks Ivoni... that list dispelled the last questions I had about whether or not to go CH. Now I just need to surrender.... uh oh...
