Hi all,
I am a new weaponsmith and i have been spending lots of time on grenades, for some reason i love making them.
Now i was wondering,
what is a good price on them,
I was thinking it would be about fair to ask 300 creds for a single thermal detonator, that would mean 1.5K for a set of 5.
The damage i made on them (well only made one of them) was about 1800.
Also if i wanted i could experiment on range, so they get better as a ranged attack.
Pfft another field where the devs screwed up.

How many professions have a weapon that lets them commit suicide?
Carbineers?

********
I've yet to see a Carbineer injure him/herself with their own weapon. Can your Carbine's even inflict damage upon the user?
No. Don't think you can compete with a Commando in commiting suicide with your special weapon. WeMaster Commandos devote anentire skill tree toward hari-kari. You can attack a rancor using a CDEF weapon to commit suicide but can you commit suicide by attacking an empty lair that cannot even fight back? HAH, I rest my case.
Admitted a Master Carbineer might have a rough time taking on a well fed bunny rabbit, but that our ability to commit seppuku with our 'special' weapons cannot be beat by anyone.
<sigh>
Waiting for the Combat Balance. . . . waiting. . . . waiting. . . . how many more months before they push it back AGAIN? Where's my grenades at. . . . there is a way to end this waiting!

Excess3, I prefer shooting the Mk19 a LOT more than the 50 cal. Something satisfying about the thump, thump, thump, boom, boom boom. I was pretty accurate with it but would NOT want to have to carry one. 0311 for me. Give me an M16/M203 and I'm happy. (Carried one in Desert Storm, loved it).
I throw grenades on occasion. Usually just morbid curiosity as to whether it will make a difference. I got some crates of some good Proton grenades but really find no real use for them. Major disappointment.
On the real field of battle grenades and other explosives can be downright lethal. But I suppose with the Jedi running around grenades would be a bad idea. "Hey Darth, catch this thermal detonator!"
"Fool, you don't know the power of the force!" in mid-air the grenades returns home. . . .

OMG, I was a master commando for probably 8 months.. I never knew that I could kill myself.. how hilarious. I guess I realized early on that I can't hit sh*t with a gernade/rocket/lightning beam etc.. so I never used them. Just my trusty Flame Thrower. Sadly, I dropped Master Commando.. I would love to test this out. Stand in a lair and toss up a proton gernade...

I've looted 2 stacks of grenades (both glop) with mind poisons on them. I put them on display in my house.
I like to use the cryo 'nades on krayts, just because cold is their lowest resist, and once I have my dots on him, I really got nothing else to do.
It at least makes the battle look alot cooler (pun intended).
Other than that, I might toss an IMP detonator or two when I'm fighting with a group and someone clusters enough pickets, or spiders, or Nightsisters or what not together. But honestly, I mostly do this from a roleplaying stand point.
closely grouped enemy= 'nade heaven.
And might I add, real life grenades will catch you in thier own blast radius. Thats why you throw them really far, and why we invented the MK-19 Automatic Grenage Launcer. (which beleive it or not is not as much fun to shoot as the .50 cal IMO).
Yes boys and girls, there is nothing like sending a little 40mm love down range, but I digress.
From a commando point of view, the grenade is not a part of the dailyl arsenal, and few find any use for them at all. For instance, when I started my commando grind I was maxed on combat XP, so I only used them for the novelty of it all, and never throw them unbuffed or unarmored. I may be crazy, but I'm not suicidal (usually).
