Fooey, I guess I'm out-numbered then.

I see a commando as a highly trained infantryman. Green Beret's come from the Rangers (who come from regular infantry units), Marine Force Recon comes from the regular infantry units (and sometimes from Regular Recon units). Navy Seals live in their own world, but point of fact, all these elite troops must master basic infantryman skills. They must be able to fire a weapon, throw a grenade and use heavier weapons (on occasion). These elite warriors MASTER the skills of an infantryman, they don't use drastically different weapons and they are as equally effective at long range as short. They recieve a lot more training than a regular infantryman.

A regular infantryman is trained in weapons, demo, grenades, rockets, heavy weapons, squad/fireteam tactics and how to survive on the field of battle.

A commando goes the next step and isn't expected to have a passing familiarity with said skills, they are expected to be very proficient with them. Commando's are more highly motivated (Not many regular conscipts in the Soviet Spetznas if I recall) most Green Beret's are on their second term.

What I'm getting at is this. Commando should build on the basic skills (like Marksman and Unarmed Brawling), make these basic skills even more effective and throw in some other benifits, like grenades, demo, heavy weapons.

As it is now I think the Commando skill should be it's very own tree and shouldn't have any prerequisites. How does learning to master a rifle help you to handle a flame thrower? Once you've mastered a rifle shouldn't you be able to take down a short range flame thrower?

Pah, enough of this. Allow me to demonstrate a commando's seppuku ability by throwing proton grenades at a lair. . . . .

lol the minute u said demolition i just had a random idea. Y not let commandos have sabatoge missions. Like since bounty hunters get their own darn mission terminal y cant we. I mean maybe for us is to go to a certain random spawning location and destroy a computer or object with a special demoltion pack (THAT DOESNT HURT THE DARN COMMANDO LIKE A GRENADE).dunno just my little penny for my thought.

Yeah, I'm more more of the "big gun" camp than the "sneaky soldier" camp. I think of people toting around weapons like you saw at the end of ep2.
