There is a novice certification heavy weapon called a Corellian Destroyer which is a loot drop off of some mob/npc on Kashyyk. I dont know off hand what drops it, but you could take a look at the bazaar vendor search and probably find some.

I've never used one but I've heard that unlike the rest of commando cert weapons it does not have anAoE, which would make it good for use grinding groups that dont want the extra aggro.

Is this a real weapon? Or is it like the "Nickel Plated FWG" on the BH forums? lol

Its a real weapon, unfortunately I'm not that keen on the looted weapons (aside from the Proton Rifle) so I'm not sure with the AoE...

However, its not the only non-AoE weapon in the profession. Of the crafted weapons, the Rocket Launcher, Heavy Acid Rifle (both CL22) and Heavy Particle Beam Cannon (Cl30) are ideal for grinding out the profession as well. Alas they aren't novice weapons, but you get them fairly early on. (refer here for experience requirements and the skill certifications for our weapons)

Just checked a Corellian Destroyer out and it is in fact non-AoE. Base dps is around 115 and sac around 125.

Looks like they are looted off of the wookie npcs around Kerritamba village in Khowir forest.

Actually, I thinkthe Heavy Particle Beam Cannon is AoE, and 100% at that (when AoE works) - I was testing with it this morning after the server reset. It's possible that it has a small radius or something - my targets were literally on top of eachother.

From my experience, its spotty at best.

Technically its suppoused to only hit critters that are near perfectly lined up, but right now it seems that it only really does that if the critters are on top of each other (as you mentioned, and I have seen it). However, since the RL stopped working with its AoE, I haven't noticed it hitting even when mobs were on top of each other. To such an extent, my ingame wife used it exclusively to grind up commando...she was able to shoot a target that was nearly on another (sometimes almost on top too), and not aggro the second.

Im not disputing that it doesn't have an AoE, but it does seem either to be so small that you dont get it often, or turned off (or broken). I honestly have never really gotten sustained AoE from either the HPBC or the RL even back from the CU Beta, so I never noticed it was turned off until you guys reported it

Edit: Maybe the server reset had something to do with it too? Maybe the damage just doesn't stop working, but the actual AoE for the HPBC...might even apply to the RL/HAR for all we know! I have asked for Dev responses on exactly how our weapons "should" work, as we know they very well don't...never got a reply to that unfortunately.

The destroyers I checked out on the bazaar on Ahazi said that it had a radius of 6, I thought that meant it was AOE. I could be (and probably am) wrong. If I am wrong what does a Radius of 6 mean on a weapon?

You're both wrong and right

All our weapons, even if they don't do an AoE have the label of 6 m radius. Thought, I think that Blackscale Acid Launcher actually doesn't have the listing, but I don't fully remember. If it has the 6 m radius listing, don't trust it...only trust what you see what your weapon actually does...

This is the case especially, for Proton Rifles as there are pre-patch ones that don't work or do an AoE, while post-patch newly looted ones that are single target, but thats another issue entirely...
