Actually I'm not a riflemen, I recent surrendered my TKA skills and and working towards commando like so many others. You say your high miss rate, at novice do you mean? The skill tree's in commando add as much accuracy as any other class, just you guys dont have the bonus of getting minor bonuses in the starting professions.

Ignore my previous posts about the dmg they can do in one shot , etc. I'm used to being a melee and the more i find out and fight alongside the more I realize how gimp they really are compared to range classes. Would love a change like this to melee classes, well would of a month ago I'm tired playing the "whipping boy" classes.

How can you come here and say minor bonuses from marksman. Accuracy at novice commando is equilavent to that of a novice marksman. The same strength most people are when they pop out of the tutorial. Next time you dismiss these as irrelevant try counting on your hand that still has all your fingers or have a 2 year old help you with the math because those accuracy mods add a lot to elite professions.

People who only see the stats and outcome of a succesful hit fail to see what it takes to get that.

You have the suckiest hit ratio of all combat proffessions, at novice its what 10 accuracy, practicly youll miss 9 out of 10 shots... AND you need to be withing 16m AND the specials have a 9-15 seconds timer between em.

Its one BIG hit every 15seconds IF you manage to stay close to your target AND IF you actually manage to hit them.

Compare that to a Rifleman with a T21 and its a joke really. I used to be a near master rifleman and I could solo every single mob in the galaxy, except maybe some of the really elite ones like Jedi Masters...

taking down a 10k ham mob in less than 15 seconds... now give me a Commando that can do that in less than 10 seconds and maybe the class needs some nerfing. Untill then people should learn how a weapon and proffession works before complaining about it... its just ignorant and frustrating to hear.

And as for the Melee vs Ranged issue, im a firm beliver that ALL ranged combat proffession should outdamage any melee (with exception of pistoleer perhaps, since they are more speed than damage).

Although I cant really agree that the melee class are working as they should currently, Melee should be master of defense and endurance, they should be able to survivie moderatly long time against huge monsters at close range and taking them down slooowly... while for example Commandos should be masters of damage, taking down big things but at the same time getting the crap beat out of em if not protected.

From what I read they are adjusting the melee classes so they become more defense oriented, if your unhappy with ranged combat classes doing more damage than you, you might need to consider changing proffession, I doubt they will buff up damage on melees... more like making them harder to hit.

And for that matter, some of the melee classes dont really have that shabby damage, they have what 4x damage multipliers on some of the elite proffession abilities.

I'm not a commando, and I will probably be on the nerf herd

To me, the problem is a weaponsmithing problem. Before, commando weapons required rare hard to find resources, and master resources. This both limited availability AND limited quality (and increased price).

So the patch both increased the stats AND removed the rare resource requirements. So since now master WS's could use their favorite uber ingredients, you end up with the badass weapons you see now.

I would propose to make a new tier of "scrub" commando weapons. Which would:

1) Be craftable by weaponsmiths doing the munitions tree. This would let more smiths make the weapons, increasing availablility and reducing cost.

2) Use common ingredients. Also increasing available and ensuring consistent quality.

3) Not have the same super dooper high stats as the current weapons.

Then, at the Master WS level, there would be uber weapons with stats similar to now, but still rare resource requirements. So availablility, and quality, is going to be much more variable. And price will be stratospheric.

===You don't find it odd that on a consistent basis you can do 5x the dmg of anyone else, and up to 10x as much with a special? not only instantly but your specials carry a dot as well? ===

Considering I spent 5x as much time getting combat xp as everyone else, and considering my class is INTENDED to do 5x as much damage as everyone else. No I don't find it odd.

What I do find odd is that a Rifleman, who spent less then 1/10th the time in combat as me, and spent less then 1/4 the skill points as me. Can do more damage over time then me, can match me in a single shot for damage with their headshot 3, can match my fire bleeds with their mindshot 2, AND if they miss a shot they only have to wait 4 seconds to take another where I have to wait 10.

I also find it odd that Me being in combat as much as I am, get killed faster then a novice dancer who just started the game.... No other in combat proffession is completely stripped of defenses.

Oh yeah, another thing I find odd, all the modifiers that I got as a marksmen and brawler get tossed out the window when I become commando, my heavy weapons don't work off those modifiers like rifles do for riflemen. Riflemen hit almost every shot, Commandos miss almost every shot.

As a riflemen I don't think you want to bring any issues to the table with us, because we are working as intended, however you can still be nerfed to hell and back.

One big hit every 15 seconds of DELAY(all attacks are delayed)( Also take a freaking look at the HAM cost too)...if we even hit that is,... Now in that 15 seconds a Carbineer/Rifleman/Pistoleer can spam there specials, heal, runand use tactics.. If I miss and get hit with a KD or panic shot im then helpess for 20 seconds...mkay? I think some people who are screaming nerf just dont know how to Duel or are too stupid to figure out how to take advantage of sombodys weaknesses... People post the Screenies of the high hit's, but, do you even see them posting SS's of * you miss blah blah* * something hits you for 300* *somthing hits you for 240* *something misses you*

Also fighting someone/somthing when buffed up and fitted with some decent armor ( and having a nice stock of stims handy)is gonna yield you a 200% better chance at surviving...

"This is deliberate" -Ralph Koster

translation (no nerf)

some people really think these guys are idiots, yet they somehow managed to create a massivly popular 3-D game that takes tons of talent, hard work and dedication. I dont think the guy that pumps gas and smokes a ton of pot down the road could do that, and he is an idiot.

and dont tell me the Star Wars name itself is the SOLE reason people play this game, if the game sucked people wouldn't play it.

5x the dmg of anyone else, and up to 10x as much with a special?

------------

i have a perfect flame thrower and don't do 5x the damage of my t21 wielding guildmate.

AND

if you are close enough to me for me to use a special then you are just stupid and deserve to die.

commandos shouldn't have to pay for your stupidity and lack of pvp skill should they?

sometimes you gotta do more than hit Ctrl-K and stand there shooting your enemy.. sometimes you have to think. i like that aspect of this game.. a rifleman can kick my... edit... if he stays 40 meters out.. i do health damage, he does mind.. think.. don't just say stuff.. think.

From what I'm hearing from most of you commandos (who are shamelessly defending the fact that you are way over-powered now) is that the only class even comparable to you is a very skilled rifleman with the best rifle in the game - and only if they do their max damage. So where does that leave the rest of the fighting classes.

And you miss all the time? That's strange since after two hours of PvP every single attack a commando shot at me hit, and killed me in one shot. Armor? Does not help a thing - I still died in one shot. Staying within/out of a certain range? Still one-shot me easily. Their defense disappeared? It took 4 of us to take down one commando, and two of us died in the process.

So do I think the commando class should be nerfed back to how they were before? Of course not. But any of you who can honestly say that the situation is ok the way that it is are just lying to yourselves. If it's fun running around without any challenge or fun in PvP anymore, then great, I hope you enjoy yourselves.

Realistically, commandos should be ONE of the better fighting classes. But when I see a novice commando solo a Master Bounty Hunter during a PvP battle, then i'm pretty sure things need to be changed again.

Hopefully the Devs will recognize the imbalance soon and put a little bit of the fun back into PvP for the rest of us.

So stock up on current weapons. That way if they get nerfed, you can always fall back on your supply.
