Proably but since we dont have special's we desearve it. Plus what is the highest DPS for commando now? Plus can someone also inlighten me on acid rifle ? since i just learned those skills i plan to use it instead of the launcher pistol.

Look instead of 'settling' for more elemental, doesnt it make sense we should get specials? BH+ anything gets two sets of specials. Smuggler + anything getts two sets. Hell, Squad Leader + anything gets, well two sets of specials. It would be nice to have some unique commando specials. Ask for them!

All I'm gonna say is we need specials. I'll argue when I get back from vacation here. For those interested check my Sig. Clicky for the Specials we should have!

ok i agree that we should have specials, but i also think the devs are too lazy, or some other adverb i wont use since this is the only account i still have; so maybe we need tocome up with the specials we want ourselves....


The closequarters melee attack is a good start, any other ideas?

Specials Id like to see(since state effects are 'built into' our weapons, I figure our specials should just be be damage dealing):


1. Overload Shot (highly damaging but lowers weapon cond faster)


2. Armor Break (if its not going to be built in)


3.Bombard (hurl multiple grenades with cost of all remaining action)


4. Focus (Does not do AOE but targets an indvidual for higher damage)


5. Spray (deos not do as much damage to 1st target but raises AOE damage)


6. Elemental Boost (up elemental damage on target)



How do these sound?

actually Sylow, the SL has more damage than the commando.



Look up the master SL weapons. compare them to the plasma FT (our highest dps ever weapon).



with basic ranged shot... SL will outdamage commando.

Did exactly that at vendor search on Infinity. No non-krayted carbine, no matter which price, can't compete with the best non-krayted plasma flame throwers there. (I am sure they are non-krayted, you don't find 3 krayted PFTs with the same serial number.) Anyways, this is not the real issue of this thread, i would guess.







This is a topic for Commandos-NOT Squad Leaders. If you want more damage as an SL, whine on your own forum.




If i was whining anywhere, please point me towards it. I am just comparing professions and i dare to say, would elemental damage be working, the commando wouldn't be that bad. I just chose the SL, as it's the most clear and obvious example.







But just becuase youre willing to eat crap and ask for seconds, Im not. This is a post to ask for Commando to get specials. BH is just as 'hybrid' as us and they get awesome specials. ALL other ranged get specials. SL is more like combat medic. A SUPPORT class. We are COMBAT. We deserve better. If you are a Commando, and agree, post a rquest youreself and keep posting till we get them!




Your statement definitely tells me that you have the same limited view on the SL, as so many other people. There's more to the profession than many people can see, but also not the topic here. Rather i would like to point out that you shoudl finally give up comparing everything with BH. Compared to BH, each and any other class is broken!


Just calculate, you spend a measly 15 more skillpoints than for a regular elite profession and get:




  • a heap of general accuracy and speed modifiers, so you can compete with all other combat professions


  • a heap of defense modifiers, accounting to the fact that BH is considered a tanking profession


  • all the abilities a carbineer has to offer


  • most of the abilities a pistoleer has to offer


  • some of the abilities a rifleman has to offer


  • the ability to inflict stun, dizzy and blind, which no other ranged profession has


  • the ability to hunt jedi


  • the complete terrain negotiation branch of scout

So as long as you continue comparing yourself with the BH, you sure are broken. But the very same thing is true for any other ranged profession, BH beats them all. (It's not without reason that you find BH in almost any combat template.)


If you on the other hand compare yourself with all other combat professions and calculate damage as if elemental damage would be working, you will come to the result that either everything except BH is broken (what a laugh, i'd rather say that the BH is off-balance, the whole game has a conceptional flaw in this area...) or that commando in comparison to everything but BH would perform pretty well and do exactly what it is made for: allowing you to power up your first combat profession to do ammounts of damage (and inflict area-states) which any other second combat profession would never give you.
