Thread: Suggestions for improving Master Commando
Personally I really like the idea of accuracy mods and terrain negotiation. Currently I do only have scout trained up for that, and I'm feverishly looking for terrain neg skill enhancers. I don't think that speed or AOE increases would fly all that well though. I really like the bomb idea, but I think that would become a griefers tool of choice. You could limit it maybe by specifying only opposing factions so neutrals would be safe. Personally I'd like to see a few more things getting to master and at master.
1) A reduction in the melee modifier as you go up in skill level culminating in either 0 or a very small modifier at master commando. Or just give master commando a reduction that cuts it in half and everyone else suffers.
2) Another weapon cert at master that will be the big stick of beating A$$ against vehicles and emplacements. Like a repeating blaster or something.
3) Improvements to the HAR and grenade line. MasterSynn says that they won't consolidate the HAR and flamer lines. I think that's a real bummer. But the HAR should have something to differentiate it from the flamer, and both the HAR and the flamer should have a kick butt special that you only get at master level. Grenades should hit more often, the ideal range should be greater than the blast area (anyone play paranoia?), and the AOE shouldbe moreeffective, and not just against you. I love the fact that I do more damage to myself with C22 grenades now than I did when I wasn't certified touse them.
4) Consolidate the heavyweapons line to one skill "Heavy weapons" and givecerts at each step. The master should get a certlike Ispecified in 2. That way we're not heinously inaccurate with the acid stream launcher even at master. We should be equally accurate with any brand of "Heavy Weapon" and thus be able to pick and choose what type of damage we want to do without accuracy drawbacks.
That's about it. I don't think thatthe above really addresses the "Make master better" concern, but I think that if all the trees were useful, more people would go master.
