Ahh for heavens sakes, do you need to see a red name post here to validate the profession. I am not trying to be offensive to the poster or the devshere, but quite frankly pretty words posted here to acknowledge our existence is far less important to me than seeing the combat docs. This isn't to say I wouldn't enjoy having a productive disscussion with the devs on the boards, but the sheer number of players/posters makes that largely unrealistic. I am sure Tiggs is well aware we exist, that devs do read this board, and that Garvin gave the dev's an earful at the summit. Now its time to show me the money so to speak.

Look, I agree with you (and no offense taken)....I DO want to see the combat balance docs....

But when was the last time we had a red name in here? The last time TH promised the FF for Commandos? That was what...Back in early august? Earlier than that?? Before that...when was the last time? But. The flip side to this is that the red name appears, posts something that took all of about 3 neurons and 3 seconds to write, we all jump for joy and hoot and holler and grab each others asses....

I, for one, am getting tiredof the goddamned proverbial carrot. Everything in this game is set up to force (for lack of a better word) people to keep paying to play the game. To wit:

1) Three week (or about) cycles for the village...This puts people into the next billing cycle..

2) Three week visibility for Jedi on the terms...Again, this puts people into the next billing cycle...

Its not about putting a superior product on the shelf that people want to buy and want to play...Its about "tricking" your consumers into subscribing for another month.

Everything is "soon"..."Soon" was a freaking year ago when the combat balance/revamp whatever was promised to us (players in general, not just Commandos) in a certain timeframe. Information is scarce. About everything. TH or his mini-me clone Tiggs comes in and gives the players a three line blurb about some change, with little to no information behind it. All we want is freaking information. Clear. Concise. Information. I swear to GOD these guys have the absolute worst communication skills of any public relations people in any job on the face of the planet.

Frankly I get better customer service from my pizza delivery guy.

lol you know that pizza delivery guy thing was a joke... but it's true. You call them up, tell them what YOU WANT. Alright now if they don't have what you want they tell you. Ok so you order. They ask for your house, your number, they come. Now if they are late, they WILL call. If they are lost, they will call. And you know what if they come with something you didn't get, you have to pay for it, but they will go back and get what you want if you demand it.

I understand your pain, and feel the same too. I've been in these profession forums around 2 months now and absolutely nothing has changed. A month ago these "cb doc's" were supposed to come out. No word. Along with other things that is why I'm leaving in a month and a half (yup should be right before jtl).

Yeah and with a slight chance you can get a pizza delivery lady, you can invite her in for lunch... and you know

That only happens in movies. And not the Hollywood kind, either.

I don't know the full story behind the purpose of Tigg's "getting to know your profession posts" butI gathered a large part of it is JUST FOR HER (she'll obviously be passing things on, but that secondary, my guess, as to the purpose)...she is trying to make a point to "get to know" the different professions and their major issues so she can better represent them and better work with us Correspondents...It's exactly the type of thing I'd do if I was new in the position...I don't know much about Image Designers, so if I was in a position where I could help them, I'd want to know their major issues and get to know the community better...

If Tiggs had come out and posted in every community forum on the same day with "Getting to know your profession" themed posts, I for one would have felt they were eye candy...she couldn't possibly get to know 36 communities all at the same time and come away with anything but a brief intro...By doing a few professions at a time, I get the sense she really wants to understand their issues before moving onto the next community...

Look...if this was really about "What are your issues so the Devs can know" type of thing, she'd just have asked us Correspondents to submit something...That's our job and something we do often...instead I get the sense it's more about "Getting to know the Communities"...

Remember...she's still pretty "new in job"...what would you expect from someone new in a "Customer Relations" postion...I'd expect Community Outreach...the smaller her scoop, the more genuine it feels...

I also don't think she started with any groups in particular...just working through all of them as she goes....

I don't know what order she's doing them in...she's already done like 10 or so other professions (been doing it since she started pretty much...a few professions every week or so) so if she was going alphanetically I'd think she'd have gotten to us by now...lol

But I know she will get her eventually...All I ask is that folks remember that she's in Customer Relations...She's not a Game Programmer...She's not the Game Producer...etc...so don't blame her for hte state of the game...don't attack her...etc...the nicer we are to her, the better chances she'll visit her more often and the more she visits, the better she'll catch and pass on our posted issues to the other devs and programmers she works with...

Also remember that her Boss is Thunderheart (so that alone means she deserves a break...lol... )

Well, now....I'm not going to start bashing Tiggs or TH...yet. I realize they both have a ton of stuff they are working through. On the other hand, how difficult would it be for me if *I* were in Tiggs shoes?

Let's imagine shall we.

So...how hard is it to "get to know" a profession?

I picked DE, as it is a profession I know nothing about, seeing as I never had to do it for a holo (thank god - and no offense, Garvin . After aproximately 15 minutes cruising the DE forum, reading stickies, etc, I have a pretty damn good idea about what is wrong with DE. If I had access to the Corr Forums and could PM folks who are in the know about DE, I'm sure I'd get a flood of info. Most likely, I could know all I ever wanted to know about DE in ONE DAY, inso far as thier issues are concerned. From that time on, I would be able to carry on an informed dialougue with the DE Community regarding thier issues.

This ain't rocket science folks. I'm sure TH and Tiggs are real nice people. They are not, however, trained or effective communicators.

Of course she's treading lightly. We're disgruntled, insane, hostile, and heavily armed.

Take her reluctance to come here as a compliment!

Anyone who knows us well would know thatwe wouldn't actually be able to hit anyone we were mad at.

She's concerned about trying not to get us angry for our own safety, not hers; I mean, if we get mad, we might start trying to toss grenades!
