Thread: If I was to build a Web Site, would would you like to see there?

Hmm, a commando bio section maybe? Thiswould kinda tie in with a roster and screenshot gallery, but maybe make it so that the two are integrated a bit and a little more in-depth (ie. we get to show off our cool commando gear in screenies that go with a bio 
)

Some folks know this about me, but in RL I am a Web Developer...
I have been kicking around the idea of creating a Commando web site for awhile new...already have the domain registered...
I am strongly considering using it to post a FAQ/Knowledgebase on the Revamp Info once info starts flowing out publically...Also as a place to post an updatable Commando Profession FAQ based on the Revamp changes...
Seems like this site could be used for possibly more...So I'm wondering, what would you all like to see there that you can't get from a Forum format?I don't plan on adding a Forum (unless you all really think it would be useful) because this one functions just as well (don't want to replace this one as the primary forum for communication that we use).
Some of the ideas I'm kicking around are:
- Live Chat
- Commando Screenshot Photos/Achive
- Commando Downloads/Uploads for Videos and such
- Weapon Analysis
- Commando Roster/Roll-Call
- Commando Related Links
There are a few others, but I want to see what you'd all like...I've had problems with having a live chat in the past as it doesn't get used very much so that one may get nixed right away (coordinating chat sessions with folks in different time zones can be difficult...but maybe something can be worked out)...
Again, this site is meant to fill some voids that the forums don't fill, not replace the SWG Forums...I can even make it very user robust to allow for user submitted articles on tips/tricks etc...
So what do you think...woudl you use something like this, and if so, what would you like to see?

I like the ideas.
Garvin, if you go with live chat, let me know. I'm admin on a rather nice IRC server, and I can set that up for us real easy if you want. Make it a secret room, too, so no outside users can find us.

i like the roster idea myself. it gives people a better idea of who is who in the commando community, and whether some poster is just passing through or is a dedicated commando for life.
you get the idea.

Well I just go clearance from the Devs so I'm going to start getting it altogether. A few correspondents even offered to help out...
Thanks for all the input so far...keep it coming...
The more I think about live chat, the more I think that maybe we can set up scheduled times and then possibly send the Chat logs to the devs (or invite the Devs to occasionally lurk)...

Great idea Garvin. And as someone said, if you build it they will come. I now I will. 
As for suggestions...
- In the Roster/Roll Call section, have the ability to breakdown by Faction by Galaxy. This way a Master Commando say on Kettemoor would know compatriatesin the same galaxy as well as nemesises.
- Have a sectioncontaining a list of Weaponsmiths that haveopenlydeclared to the website that theywill craft Commando weapons.An extra piece, which may be a bit of work on your part, have an on-line order formwhere a commando can generate an order request to be PM'd to the weaponsmith.
