may I point out that for rifles to be any good you MUST master. you start doing about, oh, I'm guessing 10-15 times as much damage as at novice (taking into account speed and SS2) and you will stop missing.

This is a VERY true statement. As I stated, I have an alt Master Rifle/Master Creature Handler (I know I know, I'm a glutton for punishment) and I felt absolutly useless as a rifleman UNTIL I mastered it. Its not that you are useless but compaired to my TKM, I didn't put out anywhere near the damage until I mastered and then it was a different story.

The only gripe I have with Rifles is that 80% of the mobs out there that you tend to fight for xp, loot or fun are "social" creatures. Sure, you can get 3-5 shots off before you aggro that one creature and it charges you but you better be ready for its 3-5 buddys to start pounding on you as well and that is where the rifleman fails IMO.

That can be considered a failling, but if you have buffs and armor it won't matter unless you're going up agenst something like an enhanced kwi which has about 45k ham and that means you can't kill it in 3 shots (takes about 15-20 heh)

What I mean to say is that you can go take a rancor lair, attack all 6 (if you've got a 199+ difficulty mission, which I get) and have at least 4 of them dead before they get to you. the other two you can finish off in no time flat. but if you have three or, god forbid, 4 or 5 enhanced Kwis on yom, you can still probably tkae them, but only with armor and buffs.

I feel like I'm repeating myself without making what I'm trying to say any clearer, I think it must be a symptom of getting out of writing 101 3 minutes ago and haveing had my paper "fix" for the last 25 minutes by a classmate with no style or any idea of what I want to say.

And look there's my ride. talk to you guys latter.

If you go rifleman you'll never use your commando weapons... you do about 3 times as much damage with the T21s or DXRs then with the FT (our only good weapon atm). As for not being able to hit stuff at close range as a rifleman, get a WS to make you a DXR6b with 100+ at ideal and you'll never miss again. TKM is good with Commando because you can useualydo more damagewhile useing Commando insted of TKA, so you won't find yourself neglecting your FT in favor of your other combat skills. plus the defs of rifleman are very low, and any meele enemy will tear you appart. not to mention, with TKA you can DKD your opponet long enough to get FS2 and FC2 stuck on him/her.

I'm a master commando/rifleman. I use commando weapons all the time. A good commando can take down SBDs and ancient krayts faster than a lot of jedi (if they don't have MSL)

As a rifleman you are missing 3 damage types. Heat, Blast, and Kinetic. (I know there is a heat rifle out there, but it isn't much of an option for the "average" player). Therefore a commando/rifleman will be a little more versatile than a commando/tkm. However, as a commando rifleman, don't go up against melee in PvP. You will not be happy, unless you like lying on your back doing the floppy fish dance. I'm not a tweeked out rifleman. I'm not speed capped. I have 2 t-21s. I speed sliced and one damaged. I have a decent DXR-6b. I use those 3 rifles and my commando weapons. WHen I'm out solo, I use mostly rifles, when I'm in a group I usually play the commando, stacking my DOTS and using the consumble heavy weapons. As a TKM you are pretty much stuck being the tank. I don't like to be a tank, its not my style. If its yours, more power to you. But as a TKM/commando you are pretty much stuck doing heat, blast, and kinetic. As a Rifleman/Commando your are pretty much only missing kinetic. YOu decide whats more important.
