Well im sure they are all pre publish 20 haha, as for when i got on just relised i missed that i think it must have been just after the fix was put up so people could actually click the 'Play' button on the launchpad without crashing.

This may sound stupid, but has anyone (including the devs) considered that maybe the armor rating of our enemies is being applied incorrectly on our AoE's energy damage? Like, where they might have intended for armor to get an extra 50% damage reduction against AoE, it's actually 500% or something (and 1 damage would be the minimum)?
Sort of silly, but I guess we have to consider all posibilities. That might explain why it works on lower-level enemies.
EDIT: You might be able to test this by having a few friends armor break lower CL enemies and see if it increases the energy damage from the AoE. If not, then obviously I'm wrong.

Well... I suppose it's possible there was an accidental digit added to the resistence in this case to the real damage, that could end up calculating out to zero or one...
Interesting theory, however, it doesn't explain why our AoE does work in some places occasionally and not others and why our AoE sometimes works just after server startup...

Several weeks ago, before elemental damage was fixed, I was consistently getting 100% of the energy damage to the affected area when using an LBC or PFT on any mobs just outside of Tyrena, Corellia, on Flurry. That was the only place that I found where it worked at all, everywhere else was full energy on the target and 1 point of area damage.
I tried today with the new changes, using pre-publish 20 weapons. Everywhere I tried (specifically 2 locations on Dantooine and my old hotspot of Tyrena), I got full elemental damage to everything in the AoE with the PFT and LBC, but only the main target took the correct energy damage, everything else was elemental +1 energy. This is the same result I have had since the elemental damage fix went in.
The mixed reports intruige me, since I had that one quirk with Tyrena earlier. When Blixtev said that a fix was working internally, did he say that it was working on both the energy and elemental damage? Has he made any comment about whether they actually intend for it to be 100% of both types to everything in the AoE? Has there been any discussion on which weapons are supposed to be AoE, and what sort of AoE? I can't pretend that I'm shocked at SOE's lack of open communication at this point, but some info on what exactly we are supposed to be expecting would sure be nice...

Nor does it explain why even low level mobs that don't resist anything, actually do (if that theory was correct)
