I used to get 20k burns going, now I get 1-(if I'm lucky)4k burns... on average, I get 2k burns. Thats a huge reduction.

I was looking at the commando as a flamethrower only profession, as that is what it is right now. The fact of the matter is that until they fix/change the har, nades or heavy weapons, we will be close to useless in high level pvse and pvsp.

If anyone has a combat log for a master commando versus other elite profession, please post it here, I'm very interested in what the raw figures are now.

some one listed it on the forum labled Update: Our Flame Damage Has been Increased.

It's not pretty i think the avg damg of Flame special was130-150 in the test he ran this takes into account 75% dec in PvP plus Ar1 at 80% heat resists plus metigation. It's one of the last posts on the 4th page go check it out.

Isnt the flame dot tick about 1/8 of what the actual dmg that goes threw. Just an estimated guess since i was doing about 750 dot to a 15% res heat npc when i hit him for about 6k, with a 9k hit i think it was 800 dot tick. Flamethrower sucks now against anytthing with heat res.

Oooh this stinks. I barely ever post in here, but when I noticed that my flame dot ran out about midway on some NPC's I was fighting, where as before they would have been chewin' grass, my heart sank. Sure I like the initial flame boost damage, but give me the dot back anyday. Our dots seriously feel useless now.

For all those that say we are still functional in PvsE:

3.0 speed flamethrower, approx 400-800 damage versus Giant Kimogila with 80% heat resist and medium armor? (ill check the armor rating tomorrow).

Flamesingle2 did around 500 damage every 7.5 seconds.

DoT ticked for 50 points.

Normal attack did 50 points of damage every 3 seconds.

I was in a group with a guy that's halfway through bounty hunter, he was doing more damage each normal attack with his light lightning cannon at 64 metres thanI was doing with my special at 16 metres.

The funny thing is he asked me to come down because "a commando would really give us the edge." lol. When fire extinguishers come out in a week or so, I predict that they'll lay in vendors unsold for months; what's the point of swatting a mosquito if you can just wait for it to drink its drop of blood and leave?

Um the giant desert kimo has 100% heat resist compared to 65% electricity resist so its obvious that a LLC will outdamge a flamer as for range the LLC is a long range heavy weapon compared to the flamer and fires faster but on a totaly unarmoured target with no elec or heat resists a flamer does more dmg.

(I have a commando on Chimaera and a BH/MCH on Gorath)

So on unarmored targets (read: mobs that con blue) commandos now have the highest dps in the game! That's right, we can now solo newbie mobs slighly faster than newbies!

I didnt say it was a giant desert, it was a just a giant with 80% heat resist. If it had 100% heat resist my initial strike would have done zero damage. Bounty hunters have more than one viable damage type, as they should. Commandos do not at this point in time, which renders us basically useless in high level pvse, as most high level mobs have considerable heat resists.

only possible way to do krayts atm would probably befrom a melee profession/commando

since we hit more on average without kd, you would still need a TKM(80% kin) to tank or a TKM/Brawler combo to tank, while you flame away. Can't think of any other way. Probably take longer than 15 mins now though. Will give it a try when I get a chance.

Dots suck!

that should be the new slogan.

dont know if this will be much help but this is what i found.....i am 0040 commando

i got this info by solo hunting canyon krayts 60%heat resist...

1)pre-patch- get a canyon and a juvy canyon fighting, flame the canyon and stand at 22m continue with flame2, everyone in a while throw in a flame1. didn't use flame cone unless juvy was 23m as didn't want to hit him. when canyon was at 45k juvy was at30k i would peace hit juvy with cone1,flame2, flame1, in that order, run to my bike and drive around both died at same time and i looted both.. no buildings traps or other exploits. just simply used dragons ferocity lvl against them to get them to aggro each other.

2)post-patch- tried same tactics noticed juvy was dropping to fast(actually is was dropping the same but i was doing less damage alot less) canyon was still at 180k when juvy died and me to follow shortly....lol

i was reading in a post that the only way to stack burns is by more players, so if you want a dot the same as pre-patch you will now require 5-10 commandos hitting same dragon with flame2 and you will get somewhere equal to pre-patch. lots of problems with ninja looters(out of turn looters) who claim to get nothing and simply are not honest.
hope it helps...and if anyone can come up with a new strategy to solo or tag team krayts without dieing 20X i would be very greatful to read about it.... lol was planning on dropping commando, just goona happen sooner than i expected.....
for all of you keeping it i salute u and feel for your loss, good luck and have fun.....

No one should be able to solo krayts. I know almost every prof has figured out a way to do it, and this is one of the many reasons the nerf bat swings. The people who can't figure it out whine and thus, WHAP, nerfed. DOT damage stacking should never have been included to begin with. Instead, each successful hit with a DOT attack should add to the timer and recalculate the damage per tick.

i understand what your saying concerning solo'ing krayts, but if you learn your toon's capabilaties and use sound tactics you will still be able to solo any killable mob in the game.. even if it takes several hours of hit and run.
