Are you saying to use headshot with a proton grenade?
I see grenades have a sac, but I didn't think you could use a special attack with them.
Sorry no with a proton rifle. Its a mater commando weapon from Kashyyyk
I actually have one of each rifle. When shopping around look for one that lists splash damage. That will be AoE.

But what you suggested would require someone obtain one of the earlier models, and hope that some random server reset didn't fix the stats on it or it wasn't corrected in a patch. Or was the AoE comment stating that they should use a cone-type attack with said rifle?
I was until very recently M Commando/M Smuggler and Pistoleer 0031 Carbineer 0010 for the intimidate, root, and KD and loved that template but the only thing it lacked was a little damage.
I recently dumped carbines and pistols for 0013 in SL to increase my damage and also provide some bonuses to the group. It is also a fun template to play. While my damage may not have the nuke effect I was hoping for, the group increases more than make up for it. With those skills in SL I have access to two separate specific target damage buffs, one party damage buff, a party defensive buff, and a single target defense buff. Another SL idea would be 0040 to get the aggro directing capabilities. That way you can flame and 'nadeas much as you want but still keep all the aggro on the tank in a group. As an added bonus, having novice scout also gives you the ability to harvest and adds abonus to your movement speed. The weakness is that you don't have healing (not such a problem with access to FD) and that the tree of scout that you need is the dubiously valued camping set. But with the upcoming ranger changes it sounds like the whole scout profession will be overhauled so this could see a positive change soon.

Imistakenly put 3 skill points into FS ranged accuracy and I am reluctant to give them up for the other templates.
Any news on when the commando specials will be fixed? I'd like to go back to the first template.
