just a note...


Mr. Joe Bob fencer with his standard gaffistick won't kill a knight


Mr. uber over here with his acklay enhanced gaffi on the other hand will.


So in reality yeah, any shmo can kill a knight IF they know what they are doing....not any schmuck who grinds TKA/sword/fencer will kill a knight only the experienced ones. We all know to be experienced it takes time so while you are grinding your template the fencer, TKM, or swordsman over there are perfecting their tactics.


I'm not saying that you guys don't take a beating from melee types because I know you do, and it is a bit unbalanced...but quite honestly you now have a slight idea how the ranged people who shoot at you with little hope of touching your ham bar feel, and I emphasize the word slight.

you want a combat BALANCE that will make you strong enough to take on 3-4 people of ANY profession?

doesnt sound like a BALANCE to me...

Yet on the good news side.. it looks like we will be at least able to handle two peeps max at once--


Once they are nerfed and we stay the way we are it will bring some balance into this.


No I dont want to super uber -- BUT lol I dont want to have my ass handed to me by one TKM or Brawler -- kinda silly.. best is the CM with 1500 mind tick.. those are a joke lol.

First off, I do not have a Jedi character, however, shouldn't Jedi be able to take more than one person on at a time? Um, hello? Have you even seen the movies? Balance in the game should have it's limits. The Devs at one point said Jedi should be able to take on a dozen regular players, however, I have killed Jedi one on one (No, he didn't have FR or Resist Incap). That should not be. I don't think I should be able to. Melee is currently far too overpowered, with CoB, toughness and more defenses than most ranged. The answer lies in two things, the devs need to remove -ALL- stacking, and then pull -ALL- forms of melee toughness. Why is it meleers get all the nice defensive bonuses?

I agree. What;s even funnier is you have people who dont want a jedi, but they think they should be able to hang with them. If they dont like the idea of jedi being some bad mofo'ersthen maybe you should go play everqueer or world of wierdos.

Well, what i am just saying is that, stop whing jedi are too powerfull it is not the case at all.

For pve i was master swordman, master doc, i was able to solo the corvette many times i also have the 9 badges i did allof them many times.

I went hunt nightsisters elders, krayt dragons, ackaly all by myself did the best loot.

For pvp just stack your defense + good food and some good CA and you are the king.


All that mastered in 3 days if you want.


To become a jedi and to complte a template take you over 5-6 months, and for the work it is, jedi does not worth it at all, i can tell you that.


I mastered 23 prefession here, i mastered all combat professions, and i took time to play with all of them.


The points is that, it is really ridiculous a good tk that stack all the good defense and everything he needs and mastered his combo skill in 1 week maximum, can solo a jedi knight!!


Stop whining all nooBsaying jedi are too powerfull, IT IS NOT THE CASE AT ALL.


Jedi knight, master lightsaber, master enhancer, force healing 4-0-0-4, and thinking to cancel all that and get a toon fun to play.

The CU doesn't look like it will help us. It so far is giving other professiosn tactics and counter moves (yet they said the jedi profession is not changing, so we don't get tactics?).


A Jedi Knightshould be able to take on any profession in game and win, easily. That is what jedi do, that is their benefit. They are not hard to get, tedious but anyone with time can get one. A single melee player dropping a jedi sjust should not be. By the time one becomes a Jedi Knight, handling any single profession shouldn't even be a challenge. The Tactics to kill a jedi knight should involve surroudning the jedi and overwhelming their defenses.


THis issue repeatedly comes up, and many jedi like what others suggest:


Jedi should have a saber parry that works just like a saber block, jedi should be very dificult to hit 1 on 1, how ever as you begin to overwhelm the jedi, the innate defenses start to decrease. Thus for a Jedi knight with 80% block and parry (new skill that we should have) 1 attacker would have to deal wiht the 80% block, add an additional opponent, and the innate defenses goes down to 70, add another the defenses goes down to 60.


Unfortunatley the CU propably will not change anything about jedi, simply equalizing all the other professions and we get to sit the sidelines while SOE and Lucas Arts try to figure out what to do with us. Hard to imagine they really didn't expect almost every player wnating to be a jedi.

My honest two cents on some of this is that we were NOT suposed to stand and fight alot of the time, hence the ranged defense.


I do think WE are forced to, but I think.. overall we were not meant to be tanks (perse)---


I know we have to be, its just I think the overall concept was not that, Master Defender Tree Excepted.


The best thing to know is that we are not getting a nerf bat more or less, while other profs will be. For that be happy I think.

Umm, how can you know we are not getting a nerf bat? Granted I don't think we will either, but till the coding is done and alpha starts, all the "paper" plans in the world are still subjective. We may not get a "nerf" by coding chaning our profession, but by changing others that interaction could result in unfavorable changes to our profession. Such as tactics and new abilities being added to other professions (will armor offer protection versus sabers and powers?). If other professiosn get counter moves, and jedi do not, that is a "nerf" in a sense or rather a neglect that leaves us vulnerable.


Edit: I agree that it appears we are not meant to "tank" which is sad, as that is exactly what jedi should be, and independant close range tank. We are not ranged comabtants, but upclose, and personal, with lots of utility. Too bad SOE and LA can't decide to let us actually play the jedi the way Lucas had invisioned them. I understand thier dilema, it is a difficult thing to try to include in a MMORPG, but I do hope eventually they can get the balance just right for the majority.

Darkclouds is RIGHT, Why.....We all have seen the movies and read the books and DID any1 notice that in those movies and books its REALLY REALLY hard to kill Jedi. All you need is 1 Melee stacker with a LOOTED uber melee weapon and your done...Yes if your lucky you might win..But if hes hitting you with a looted "say" Pike with 2.2 spd and 1200 damage "YOU R DEAD"( why they have these weapons in the game really makes no sense, because a average player will b a great player just because of a weapon,thats WRONG)...The way the system is set up Jedi are no were near a elite profession. And please people dont tell me to stop whining..i am just stating the facts !!!!

dude to take a combat prof if you didnt get any defender you just take ithorian mist and thaikilo and theres some nice defenses ya you dont have melle defense but with those foods you will almost never get kd-dizzyed and have to worry about healing it and with anormal prof all you do is kd-dizzy and spam dervish 2 and there dead in less than 30 seconds my friend searian is mls master enhancer healer 4xx4 and took my fencer tkm and swordsman friend in less than 30 seconds so it is'nt to bad but yes i agree with you melee prof are way way way to overpowered why should a temp that takes a 4 months to get be a lil stronger than a temp that takes a weekend to get
