Well Flamers are way too powerful atm the damageand weapon accuracy needs to be fixed as +0 at 64m is just wrong.

Also I think the expendable weapons should be easier to makeI would suggestless different components needed to make.

My number one issue? Ya I'm gettin sick of gettin beat up by durni (or whatever small animal im sure its happend to us all) and havin to compensate for defense by spendin my points on other combat professions instead of gettin a job where i can make some money. We are now the reliantprossesion in the galaxy. It costs thousands upon thousands (hmm a large house or actualy helpin in combat) to keep us goin and plenty of proctection cause the guy shootin the rockets is a nice big and bright target.

I say the 2.5x melee dmg penalty and specials that only work in that penalty area are our biggest concern now, it was the fact that only our FT worked right(poorly I might add) but since the patch the fact that half our tree is broken has taken a back seat to the fact that we can no longer support the cost of using those broken weapons.

I am REALLY working hard to get this fixed and will post an update tomorrow. I got a chance to "speak" with Lord_Pall, the combat designer on Test Center yesterday. Right now, commando issues are not at the top of his priority list. Anyway, be sure to read my update post tomorrow and I will fill everyone in as to where we're at.

Oh thats just peachy Synn. First they bust us more than we already were with a unilateral, and totally stupid change and NOW we aint a prority. Not quite back to square one, but getting close.

Next thing I know, Ill be backon Rori getting down and dirty with the bunny-folk.

Oh, bugger. Too late Im already a master...........

I agree with acid rifle needing fixing or it's useless compared to flamethrower.

But please please please do something about this melee defense reduction.

I cannot even solo things that are white con to me now let alone yellow... which previously i had a chance to solo if I used good tactics.

This is getting tiresome all the nerf crap.

Hey MasterSynn, you're doing a great job representing our interests btw.

The 2.5x melee penalty has to go, duh. However I'm curious to see if they also remove the ability to use all those marksman generic specials with our weapons when/if they do get rid of it.

That said here are my suggestions on how to improve our profession and what issues to address. Some of this stuff is from other posts people have made.

1) Consolidate the flamer and HAR into one "Support Weapons" branch and consolidate the skills into "support weapons" use the same specials and progression that's in there now. Currently the HAR really has no use or place in our weapons scheme. It's pretty much a less useful flamethrower.

2) Consolidate the heavy weapons skills into one generic "Heavy Weapons" skill. All of the bonus's and accuracies should stack with that skill. With the addition of things like overchargeshot2 to our abilities, these weapons don't seem to have much of a point. Personally I think these weapons don't really shine because armor still seems to be busted/weird. I think that they should get added damage multipliers vs fixed targets like lairs, vehicles, etc.

3) Fix/Increase our accuracy with grenades. Increase the ideal range past the blast radius, and look into the whole AOE bit. When you toss a grenade it doesn't seem to really use the AOE except to calculate whether or not you hit yourself.

4) Add a new "commando support" line to the skill tree. This line should have a bunch of generic stuff like terrain negotiation, generic specials, etc.

Personally I think that to make this class shine and be really cool to play, a skill tree change is necessary. I don't know if such a thing is allowed on the dev side of things, but I think that we should really push for it.

Well my opinion on our #1 issue is really multiple in design. I'm not going to harp on changing trees or anything like that. IMHO. it would go like this (not that I am belittleing anyone elses idea's):

1. The 2.5 melle penalty has got to go. In all senses of the word i just "Broke" us back to before we were fixed. In order to be successful I should "NOT" be required to dabble in other professions at all in order to be successful in my chosen profession. Any dabbling should just be gravy but not so much gravy as to make obtaining Master Anything useless which is rampant in this game. Master status should be heavily advantagous. As it is now, In most professions (especially combat) mastering a profession is useless thus the reason for "Mass" dabblers. For example: we have all these commando FT dabblers, nothing against them at all, doing nothing but picking up the FT because it works. Suggestion: add less effective HW at beginning of profession with limited specials until Mastering in which the big guns and bonuses are then attained. Dabbling and Whining gone. Point here is perhaps none of the "STEALTH NERFING" would have been necessary had the dabblers been limited to a lower skill set. All this dabbling, Whining, and crying NERF COMMANDO is primarily due to the dabbler profession.

2. Stop listening to the Baby's that always jump on this board and scream NERF. They have done this since the release of this game and you have listened and reacted with knee jerk speed. Just because people scream Nerf, SOMETHING IS OVERPOWERED" is no reason to take it to heart. Another reason for test center to exist. Go to the people who work this all the time and get answers from them. A lot of the time people who scream nerf on another profession are just crying because they aren't as powerful, have no tactics in game play, or are just noobs who haven't learned yet. Yes, but they are our customers you say. So are all the other Characters you stealth Nerf because you folded under the pressure of the few. I have read these NERF posts and almost all of them are people crying because they were killed in a PvP fight. Welcome to the war.

3. Eliminate "STEALTH NERFS". All these are to the paying public are changes your afraid to anounce because you already know the reaction is going to be bad. There is no reason what so ever to STEALTH NERF anything. If you would use all the resources available to you, you would find that the mature players who really are here to have fun will give you an honest answer as to what needs to be changes. For example: this stealth nerf towards commandos and all the "DRAMA" involved could have been avoided if the person that implemented this would have listened and hadn't posted false information. And now to make matters worse, NOT only does he "STEALTH NERF" an entire profession he tells the Coordinator the commando's are no longer one of his top priorities. Slap us in the face!

4. Somebody really needs to learn the difference between PvE and PvP. I don't play PvP because it's just not my cup of tea. However, every time someone decides that a change for the sake of balance needs to made for PvP the customers playing PvE get penalized as well. That is not balance in eyes. All of this is in the name of "BALANCE"! If you move out of the box and look how this game is structured Balance is at best illusionary. All professions have their expertise and should be treated that way. A rifleman should own at long range. However, why should he suffer a mellee penalty just because he can shoot long distance. A TKA literally should own at close range. So why should he pay all these Ham and special penalties because he managed to get in close. I have watched as this balancing act has continued since the release and the idea of balance has made this game more unbalanced each time and everytime a balancing nerf occures it throws more imbalance into the game as a whole. Players should be required to learn to play their professions as intended instead of crying to the dev's to make things easier. IMO, "TRUE" Balance is not possible when given the structure of this game. Also, each time SOE attempts to balance this game it creates less and less unity among professions which used to be a goal of SOE. For example" The "STEALTH NERF" on mission payouts. There will be, if not already, less and less group hunting due to this nerf. Point in fact, why would I group with a person who can only get a 600 cr. mission to share with my 5000 cr. misson. I wouldn't and it's already happening.

This is just my opinion, and before anybody says anything, yes, I believe this affects the Commando and everyone else. But, We went from broke to fixed to broke again and now we know we are not priorities. I would like to know what this guys priorities are. Post them and lets see where our problems stand compared to the rest of the combat professions.
