Popo maybe you could elaborate on your decision so that I can understand it better.
First off, let me apologize for not responding sooner, yesterday was kinda of a bad day for me and i took most of it off, but thats not really any excuse.
Believe it or not, im not the big bad scarey Popo that everyone thinks i am based on the way i tone myself in my posts, i, am human too, and like you, i have feelings and get upset.
(this post may get lengthy, grab some Popocorn and relax.) There, im an elitest, everything has to have my name in it cuz im a god, hate me now? Good, then lets get started.
To answer this particular post first, then the remaining ones in a min or 30 -
This is a misconception, people flame me, and us on TC based on the fact they think were pissed because we may or may not be getting wiped. Now while alot of TCers will say they arent upset or willing to have a wipe, i think no matter who you are that to say you *wont* be mad is false. I firmly believe, and i can only speak for myself on this, that maybe a 0.05% out of 100% of me is actually mad over a wipe, a real wipe based on game design flaw or massive bug attack wipe, not the proposed one. Ill clarify.
The reason I, and perhaps *some* of the people who *might* leave the game if this wipe happens, is because of the reason behind the wipe. This is an unjustified and uncalled for wipe. They are planning on doing a Server Copy, while we have *No* information reguarding this statement by Holo as to what it pertains, we are forced for the next week to specualte on what it entails. Basically, if they copy any server over to TC, it will require a wipe to do so, because their data and ours cannot co-exsist.... like if my house is 2 meters from joe schmoes, it will be nasty. So in order for this copy to happen, if it goes to the Test Center server, we will be gone. Its like we dont exsist. All of us dedicated ourselves to paying full time, or exclusively on TC, we have worked our asses off to go from noob to master, or darn close over the course of the last month plus of retail launch. We joined TC knowing full well that we could have weird game play rules, and things happen, plus the small, but chance to have a wipe. Thats cool, and understandable, but, what we did NOT sign up for was to be told, no matter how long we play, no matter how many bugs we find, no matter what help we are, it will be construed as, not good enough, and we will be wiped so that another server can be copied over and they can test instead.
To me, thats selfish abusiveness to those who have done all this work , for seemingly nothing. It took me about a month to master weaponsmith, we didnt nor do we have the population on TC like a live server to get me there in one day, or ever 4. We were told that we *Had* to level up on our own, and not be given special treatement, thats fine, 99% of us are adult enough and dont mind leveling on our own, that is because this is a game and should be treated like one, to a point.
I found it very humorous that after all the whiners and complainers that came to TC forums about insta-leveling and such are getting their way, even in part, after the TC community has gone through hoops just to let the Devs know whats wrong with this or that, our bug list that has been reported is phenominal, wether in game, or via these forums.
The reason i dont feel the need to play the game any longer if this wipe happens is because all our hard work is basically being thrown in our faces by people who prolly wont *Test* but have free reign on a server with no CS or rule sets.
To answer a post reguarding TC will have to start over, this is false, and hopefully good news to you guys. If we, the people of TC get wiped in favor of live server copy over, there will be 5000 or so players, who have the ability to log onto TC at master level and test changes, bug, whatever. These players will have full access to everything they have on live, only problem is, will they Test, or will they just play, grief and ignore everyone else and cause trouble? I wish i could answer that.
I am not willing to *work* for SWG and the Dev team if they take advantage of our hard work and kindness to testing or if their going to lie to us.
I stated on TC that if we got a normal wipe i wouldnt be so worried, but i would not be a weaponsmith again, frankly i cannot do the grind again, its way too long and frustrating, even worse than on live. I dont have the means like they do, only a small handfull of players who have been overly generous and have donated lots and or resources to me to aid my cause. I would probably play a fighter class, only problem is, i get immense joy from providing for my friends and the server itself while aiding them in getting better things, especially at cheap prices, and the fact that combat gets old, fast.
I hope this post makes sense, to some of you it will, some will still rant and think im retarded, oh well, heres a scenario for you then. Altho its against policy and the law to do so, stew on this thought for a second and tell me how you would feel.
If a player wipe happened on live, how many of you would willingly start over again?
Some would quit, thats for sure, and please, dont tell me it cant happen, i know this, but hypothetical situation only type of question.
On TC i expect it, and have addressed it above - but i did not, nor do i expect to be told "We cannot help you level, you must do this like the live servers did, we will not implement free exp terminals, and you guys are asked to paticipate in finding bugs, playing normal and aiding the live folks." do so, then be told, well, all your efforst may be appreciated, but were gonna copy another server over so that they can test, sorry.... then wipe us.
Kinda makes all our work moot, and proves that no matter how much we do or did for them, not only is it not enough, but our little population of about 200 isnt good enough.

Good news, all those generic resources i used in my craft should hopefully keep the prices the same ( lol if anyone thinks they will reduce the cost, come on , this is live were talkin about )
Its easy to find good Wal-Mart type resources for weapons, and make good stuff, if i can do it, they can too.
Most "rare" resources suck anyhow, and only worsen the product, with this new way, your stuff has a 75% chance of being the same, or getting better. For instance, my Launcher Pistol - was max dmg 176 or so, pre-slice, now its about 215 dmg pre-slice using only 1 advanced component. ( still cant find the gems needed for the 2nd adv comp.)
Take this for what its worth, maybe itll give you some hope.

1.) No, but i can tell you its not done yet, the Proton still requires Throanium Steel a rare mineral for one of its sub-components.

well, you have my support Popo. I think it's rude to redo test in order to accomodate new things. I think a reasonable way to approach the problem would have been to either:
1) Just allow correspondents to copy over, excluding lots and such, to test changes to their individual professions.
2) select a small group of players that regularly contribute positive feedback on the forums to copy over, minus lots, to increase the population on test and keep it enriched with contributing, articulate players.
I'm willing to bet that you are right about a copy in terms of poor info coming from test. Most players don't take the time to generate data on what they see in the game. A bunch of boys on the server posting that "we need more t21's" isn't going to help anyone much.

Thank you for your updates. I am a MWS and I just have a hard time believing that the no specific resources for some of the weapons will roll over to live. I am well "was" traveling like a mad man collecting all the best resources for these weapons. Is it safe for me to stop and just focus on high quality and conductivity metals. I mean just having that, I will literarly be able to make these the best they can be, besides using the advanced components.
Heavy Particle Beam Cannon seems to be doing very well in terms of damage, I just can't beleive I will be able to make really high end ones so easily and run around using them like a mad man. When I run out I reach for my crate of 100 Heavy Particle Beam Cannons and move on. WOW!

Indeed my good man, all but the Rocket Launcher require Conductivity and Overal Quality, with a smattering on Shock Resistance. Focus on the good stuf, fear not over the crappy named junk. You too will soon be able to craft MUCH better weapons like i have for the commandos and BH's, let them rejoice, finally some sanity comes to WS and Commando/BH.

This is false, and a smartass statement that you should be ashamed of, but wont be. If a person gives freely of themselves, and does for others, then feels like he or she is being kicked in the behind for his acomplishments, then that persons reactions are just. I fear no one, period, there are several Weaponsmiths in training on TC, and i offer advice to all of them. Is that how someone affraid of being dethroned would act? I think not. Your post is not only insulting, but does not belong in this thread at all, because it has nothing to do with the great people here whowant this information, and are thirsting for some salvation to a dying breed.
