Thread: Flamethrower
Does a flamethrower take fuel? If so, what kind and whats the availability of it?
We are asking the devs if perhaps 24m or so might be tolerable.
As it stands, it's the limitation to our great damage with our specials.
This is my first post on the SWG forums, but I have visited here often. Also, I am not yet a Commando, but I am getting very close!
Since I am not yet a Commando, I realize I am opening myself up to numerous flames. However, I have to add something here:
What is being asked for is a flamethrower special attack that has a range OVER 50 feet? Granted, a meter in game does not appear visually to bethe same as ameter irl. ButI would not expect the greatest damage from a flamethrower to be beyond 50 feet from the nozzle.
I have been following similar threads in the Commando forum and have seen the thought pattern that if the flamethrower specials' range is increased, a corresponding reduction in damage will be included. As an MMORPG-whore,my experiencesmake me tend to agree with this thought.
Yeah deffinately minority on this. I have no problem with 16m range limit. If you want to have a long ranged weapon then I'd suggest offering suggestions for the Acid Rifle. Myself I hope its made into our long range weapon as it doesn't have a DOT. Make ithalf the delay and power of the Flamethrower specials and make it only hit targets more then 16m AWAY from you, or something like that. We need a good longrange workhorse and the acid rifle has the potential. (its slower does less damage and has no DOT, its perfect for the job!) Best of all if the Devs go with this then the Acid Rifle won't be changed at all and people won't have to buy a newer better one. Also PLEASE fix the animations and sounds on it!
Anyone know of a good weaponsmith that can make me a really good flamethrower on the server Naritus?
