Thread: Commandos Need a REVAMP!

Okay Commandos are suppose to be the Elites of ranged weaponry yet a Bounty Hunter has more defences, speed and accuracy then a commando? Infact any ranged profession nearly has more speed and accuracy and they have justgood if not better defences. This is so stupid. We need our speed increased by like 10, and we need a lot more defence. Some of our weapons are require close range so they can hit hard yet, we get pwned at close ranged becasue our defences suck. You can't mix any commando profession with a ranged profession becasue it will suck. You have to mix it with something lame like smuggler and pistoleer and I dont want to be a commando smuggler. Commandos should have more defences, speed, and accuracy. And I think they should have a better selection of high level weapons. At master they should have a very good rocket launcher, a improved LBC, and some other stuff. And they need a commando pistol at master that actually does something. please revamp us!!!

Its more of mixing us with melee professions, as with any ranged profession...we gain damage specials, and can actually deal out damage - which we can't in a melee template.
Anyways, stuff...is coming. Between now and TOW we will be seeing some of it, tentatively.

Like what? I mean serious the weapon speed and accuracy is sooooooooooo terrible. You would think I commando would have some elite training that would make them dead accuarate with a flame thrower so that they wouldn't flame their own people.

Technically, in regards to the other ranged professions we're about 5-10 speed/accuracy points less than the mainstream professions, and my best bet is because we have built-in states and the grenades. Now...its my assumption that SAC/slow speed/slow mobility w/ a HW is the result of that, so having less skill mods really isn't that necessary. At least, we do have weapon specific mods...
Anyways in regards to upcoming stuff, I'm under NDA...and currently waiting for a follow-up & permission to post, its not a lot...but its something. Don't want to scare off the Devs right now as I think we'll be seeing some significant love.

Yeah but why are we so low in stuff like that? I mean arent Commandos suppose to be the Elites of the Ranged professions? Yet we have the short end of the stick and it has been like this for awile.

Since Beta...over 2 years ago. Honestly, I think the devs just overcomplicate us and try to put in a lot of "coolness", then trip overthemselves and never get us fully done or fleshed out. Believe me, that can happen if you overwork an idea too much...simplicity yet efficiency is usually the best way to go.

Yeha but Commando will always be a second rate Ranged Profession becasue the devs are not willing to put any time or effort in them. Sad but very true. They did gain some stuff with the CU but not much and it is still buggy with very low defences and mods.

Well since we have to waist 29 skill points in brawler which as stated above melee helps us none. The sad thing is im sitting here with master commando / master SL and some medic. Ranged shot for the win!!! It seems our weapons should be the heavy hitters, a little slower i can see but others hit harder and are a lot faster.

Im hoping it will...sometime in the following week I was told that the devs might have more info regarding our AoE, so stay tuned folks...

As it has been for 2 years now Starnick... we get promised stuff... and never delivered.

They have promised and yes nothing has happened. You know the AOE isnt even that big of a bug comapred to all the other stuff that they have failed to fix. *sighs*
