Thread: Status Update on the 19 Answers Posts...

As pretty much all of you have noticed, we haven't had a 19 Answers post for a longtime...
I've been trying to get a response of when they will start up again, but haven't yet achieved that (could be this week, could be next, not really sure)...
As for the reason why...From what I've seen TH has been extremely busy...he's been making a lot of major posts lately as well as doing his old and new position (he's working on hiring an assistant)...
Something I didn't know until recently...The 19 Answers we never an Official SOE thing...It was something TH decided to do on his own in his free time...He would use his breaks and such to go hit up different people for answers...Unfortunately since this is the case, that the reason it gets sacrificed first when TH's case load is over-flowing....
Hopefully TH will have time soon to start them back up again (he has said he wants to) or SOE will make it an official on-going project and maybe it will be a key assignment for whomever fills TH's old postion of Assist Customer Relations Manager...
Anyway...just wanted to give you all a heads up on what I know or have heard...if I hear anything else, I'll let you all know...

Thanks for the heads up. I have been wondering what happend to the questions. Very curious as to what he will say to ours. Personally I think he is worried to say anything anymore to the community due to all of the delays that have been happening lately. And since he is the one telling us about it, he takes the heat. I would be careful as to what I said to from now on.

This pattern has been obvious to anyone looking at game developement in the last 10 years. I honestly can't remember a game that the first estimated release date was actually hit. This goes for patches and anything else to do with them.

The DEVs are probably delaying because they're too "occupied" with reading the WOW or EQ2 forums. Speaking of such, I've got a deadline in one hour... damn I spend too much company time reading forums.

I say we raid SOE HQ for the questions ourselves and create a Rebel Alliance of 19 Answers!

I think, in this case, an Imperial JBT* approach might work better.
* For those that don't know: JBT = JackBooted Thug. I.e. Kick the door down, beat people 'till you get what you want.

I understand that they have a heavy work load there, and that TH carries more then he should. There is an answer to the problem though........HIRE MORE PROGRAMERS!!!! The purpose of this is to, dare I say, "LIGHTEN THE WORK LOAD". I'm sure that they take pride in being "the best of the best" but I am sure there are people out there that are just as "gifted". I hope TH is'nt being stressed out, we need him Tip-Top and in a good mood to get EVERYTHING we NEED right? I say Screw JTL, get SWG working properly before anything else......but the purpose of JTL is really,truly, to get more people to join; hence there is more $$$MONEY$$$ to be made. How dis-en**edit**INGchanting! Oh and by the way what's up Syzygy =) See you on TC.

hehe they have enough actualy from what ive heard. And if they hire more they would have to spend time training them on stuff. so it would be just the same.

Actually, I believe TH is in the process right now of hiring an Assistant to lighten his load...Most of his work load is because he's doing his old job and his new responsibilities (2 jobs worth)...I wouldn't be surprised if he has someone hired within a week or so (maybe sooner...seems a priority of his)...

The problem is, TH's job only acts as a conduit between the developers and the community. If, as Dysinn (AKA TKA-MC) so rightly points out, the rest of the developer staff is so overworked…well, communication won't help. Granted they'll be able to more effectively tell us why they aren't going to do squat…and that's a step forward, from a certain point of view. But really, leaving the base game broken to push what will likely be a broken expansion? Bad mojo.
To get back on topic, communication good. Several professions are still waiting on clarification for incomplete answers given in the last round (Image Designer, Tailor, probably others were promised more complete answers "next week" as well.) Let's hope that things get back to being less muddled (because really, they were never straight to start with) and we can get at least some token promises.
