Choose a replacement CURB Tester and get him/her up to speed ASAP -
Consolidate the Stickies a bit and makeold/new information more easily accessible(Update new threads, combine old threads, all of that nature) -
Go back to the Top 5 Issues thread for your review and commentary and to check if it needs further refinement or update...as well get some updated Dev Responses... [Status: Might get some new info next week...]
Commando Thread Series
-
Commando Issues - Old and new issues as well as bugs that are affecting commando, client side these threads will focus on solutions and discussion. Correspondent side, presenting those to the devs. (Continuation of what Garvin of course did, just will be seeing if anything new popped up or see if the slate needs updating...) -
Commando Development - NON-Curb related general threads for cool ideas and other items of interest you want me to present to the developers (continuation of Garvin's first Development thread)
Commando Concerns, Possibilities, and Requests
-
All the above will be included into this general overview focusing ontwo main points: CURB and Development Ideas (Non-CURB) -
CURB is NDA protected and will focus the Sandbox issues currently (so Testers, PM me with concerns or point out threads with them!). As correspondent, Ill be trying to work on all the playing fields for you guys...both visible and invisibile...Just letting you all know that this will in fact be a focus for me. Whenever I can, I won't let you guys hang in the dark but be patient for information likewise as we know the Developers! -
Development Ideas will focus solely on Non-CURB ideas that ALL of you guys could participate in...examples include long-term and short-term if we can get the developers to fix some longstanding problems (like adding +30 FT speed to Master until the CURB arrives)...as well other areas such as where we stand economically, and of that nature.

Although a lot of it seems to still apply.
- Accessibility
- Efficiency
Having areas of focuswill beeasier to handle when collecting ideas to develop or improve the topic. There will still be a general wishlist however...
The current Commando Development thread is difficult to wade through, and rehashes will be inevitable. Im hoping to try and minamize rehashing
(maaany things unfortunately will be restated since they never were bloody fixed in the first place...)
Also on the top 5, Ill be looking at those and letting you guys choose what you want to be first pick or stay the same....letting you guys choose will help shape everything I present to the Devs, to reflect on the commando collective
.

I don't like doing this particularly since this is day 2 of your reign but you act as if Garvin hasn't been doing his job and that all of a sudden things are going to change. The idea that just because you are now the correspondent, our issues and the state of the profession have changed overnight is patently wrong. And the idea that now that you are correspondent, the Dev's are NOW going to listen to us is crazy.
My comments are in RED.

Ok folks, pretty much my second order of business is to get a communication flow to the Devs asap. That means what you guys want to be heard or feel is important must be funneled into "Dev Speak". Hence forth, I have some great ideas that I'll be tackling over the course of next week or two as I learn the ropes of being a Correspondent:
The Commando "To Do List"
Community
Choose a replacement CURB Tester and get him/her up to speed ASAP
Re-organize the Forum(Update new threads, combine old threads, all of that nature)
Go back to the Top 5 Issues thread for your review and commentary and to check if it needs further refinement or update
Commando Development Project/Wishlist
Work on and publish a new State of the Commando based on information from Garvin's old post, and new compiled info above
I hate to be like this but NOTHING HAS CHANGED since the top 5 and state of the profession was written.
Commando Development Project
Continuation of Garvin's old Commando Development Thread
3-Part Series with 3 areas of interest: Disposable Weapons, Non-Disposables, Playability
Will follow Garvin's old format, but will (hopefully) be a bit easier to sort through and for you guys to read
Will be going through the old thread as well as issues Garvin has brought up in Correspondent Land (to prevent rehash)...so Im looking for original and new ideas/solutions
The Development discussion is POINTLESS unless we can see the COMBAT DOCS and see what is coming. Those docs are REQUIRED to have any kind of meaningful discussion about the future because they are the future of COMMANDO.
Commando Concerns, Possibilities, and Requests
All the above will be included into this general overview focusing on three main points: CURB, Immediate Fixes, and Future Fixes
CURB is NDA protected and will focus the Sandbox issues currently (so Testers, PM me with concerns or point out threads with them!). That is good to know.
Immediate Fixes are quick ideas that will help out commando greatly Pre-CURB, and give us something to do while wait...ie Increased FT/HAR Speed, AP for non-disposable weapons etc
TH has said that they will not be doing things to improve our condition before the revamp. They promised to after the summit but they broke that promise too.
Future Fixes are long term ideas such as the Loadable Hvy weapon that uses different ammo packs...Ryubushi's Tank Thread...etc
Once again, without knowing what the CURB holds, how can we discuss what we need because we don't know what we are going to get.
For these two issues, your ideas/concerns/requests will be directly from all of you...so keep ideas in mindfor the Development Threads Ill be posting sometime this week
For the most part, this is my plan of action for the next week or two. If i get Developer replies to concerns/issues and the sort, and get a Green Light to relay information...you guys will be the first to hear about it
. Stay tuned...

Im still reviewing all the Information available to me...including Past Garvin Posts. If any information negates something I stated in this outline...it will be crossed off (similarly as stuff to do are finished, they will too). Im not acting as if Garvin wasn't doing his job...hell, Im basing most of this off of what Garvin has done and his input is just as valuable as it always been. I opened up with the notion of getting the communication funnel back up (the amount of information I have to wade through is huge...there will definately be somewhat of an interuption of communication, because of me...), and keep trying to get Developer attention on issues that Garvin has been pushing for.
Also...no, I don't expect the Devs to suddenly listen to us nor that our issues have suddenly changed overnight. Compiling a huge post to present to them, to even just remind them of past issues is worth it. I have further comments down below...BUT I do agree that this is too general of an outline...but its suppoused to be very rough. I may have some ideas that are a bit different from Garvin, but that does not mean Im saying that he didn't do his job...hell I think just the opposite, Garvin is one of the best dang guys Ive ever met and one of the most hardworking correspondents to boot. Im putting in 110% effort into this to try and match his 150% effort level!!!...if I get ignored by the devs on old issues, Ill keep trying till I get an answer...if I get an answer saying "No" or "Not at this time"...and can relay it back to you guys, I will...and then Ill move onto the next issue. Im confident this is exactly what garvin has and will be doing....but im not him, I still have to sort through at least a a hundred+ pages of posts...im fighting for you guys, but I want to know what you all will equip me for that fight....

When garvin first began doing his job as Correspondent, he recieved the same criticism. Yeah, nothing as changed much...BUT looking back at the issues thread stickied at the top of these forums, the priority may have changed since their last update (about last October). For example, the Number 1 issue involves our DPS. Meanwhile, there has been a TON of commando complaints about looting rights with our DoTs. We may not be able to cross off ANYTHING off our issues list (and probably wont), but I want to see what the community feels is more important currently. As for a State of the Profession....only to build upon Garvin's.
Issue 1) Commandos are out-damaged when it comes to DPS by various other professions. Professions should be capable via DPS dependent on skill points spent in Combat related professions. Currently Commandos can out damage many professions (not all) when compared shot for shot. Commandos cannot out damage most combat professions when 12 seconds worth of shots are considered.

A very valid point, originally I was not sure if I we would even need these. Remember, this is a rough outline so you guys will know exactly what I'll be doing for you all. If we don't need it, it won't be as ambitious. If it may help reiterating all our issues to the Devs and bringing the spotlight back to them (or continue hammering them with Garvin!)...then thats only beneficial. As for the CURB, we have a great deal riding on it...but by no means will we be totally, ultimately, and fully fixed by it. Any new ideas that are not-CURB related would go GREAT in these development threads...such as Commando Missions or ideas for commando weapon revamps or of that nature. Its very general...

Who knows? With all the new fixes and changes that have been streaming in, we may get a bone thrown to us. Its worth a try.

These will be drawn from long term ideas...like Ryubushi's tank threads...the underslung carbine (currently has no animations....!)...commando missions. Stuff that we'd like to see a loong ways off...maybe even GCW commando stuff (or that JTL idea of commando boarding parties!)...the CURB at its core is focusing on Combat afterall...

I was not criticizing i was asking what is the point?

Yeah because we have gotten use to being gimped in dps and accepted it. Note the people complaining about the Dots are mostly new people to the profession. I am sure that if you took the top 5 poll agian , it would come out exactly the same.
Issue 1) Commandos are out-damaged when it comes to DPS by various other professions. Professions should be capable via DPS dependent on skill points spent in Combat related professions. How many times has Garvin done this only to be told " it will be addressed in the CURB"? I don't think the DEV's have forgotten about us or our issues.
As for the CURB, we have a great deal riding on it...but by no means will we be totally, ultimately, and fully fixed by it.
REALLY ? Do you care to elaborate on that statement? If we aren't being given 4 WORKING AND USEFULL trees, what is the point and the holdup?
In other words, if commando is not being fully fixed, what is the point of the REVAMP???
Any new ideas that are not-CURB related would go GREAT in these development threads...such as Commando Missions or ideas for commando weapon revamps or of that nature. Its very general...
How can we have any discussion about POST CURB without knowing anything about the CURB? If the CURB is as big a change as you and Garvin say how can we talk about a world we know NOTHING ABOUT?

Maybe im too much of an optimist, butI still want to get a proper focus on exactly what the community is pushing for as a whole atm (besides being anxious for the CURB), and if that is unchanged then Ill know exactly what to present...what to try and nag the devs with. Basically...I need to learn the Garvin ways of Correspondence...and I cant do it without you guys
