I started commando only a couple of days ago, and am seriously struggling with it.The proffesion on the face of it looks good, launcher pistol, flame thrower etc. on the advice of a player i am using my launcher pistol to try and level up to flame throwers 2 before using it, due to accuracy probs at the early stages. However, mission terminals give me very bad missions 1000 creds being about the highest, for use with my pistol, but selecting my flame thrower gives missions that are too hard!my pistols stats are 58/207 spd 3.3, at the moment all i am doing is bad missions with bad xp, the highest being around 1k if im lucky, but most of the time i spend playing i am inc, dad or recovering. Can sum1 please tell me a better way to level my character??oh im also using a full suit of comp armour 60% without botts or helmet tho.

thanx

Getting a few specials from pistoleer can go a long way here. A good place for xp is the Tusken Fort. If you are on a server where it doesn't get too crowded then by all means it's worth it. You've got good composite so get buffed put on the whole suit and start hunting. You'd be pretty surprised by what you can kill buffed and armored. Also if you got the cash invest in a crate of vangerian canapes and vassarian brandy. These both buff mindand sub-statsand are definitely worth the money. Today I was doing mawgax missions on Yavin. If you can single pull them you shouldn't have trouble. Couple of times Idid get ganged upon but took them down one by one anyway. One lairgets me 40k xp. There are countless other places to level. But the most important thing to do is buff. Also check out the commando guide at the top of these forums.

Overchargeshot2 will eat through your FT fast. If you have a really good FT then i suggest buying a cheap one to level up with. /aim/overchargeshot2 will work until you can get flamesingle1 but dont use your main FT for it. go grab some decent kinetic armor and head to the Mining Outpost on Dantooine. there are usually alot of players there forming hunting groups. get yourself into a big group and do the best you can, after a couple of group hunts you should at leastget the first couple of boxes in FT. then start soloing savage quenker missions.

I have 0/0/1/0 in commando so far, and am having a blast - no pun intended.
I use flame 1 to set the mobs on fire, then use the flame on normal to smack it down, then use the LP to finish it off.
I got a pretty good FT and LP, then I got them sliced, and they are really good now.
I killed more than a dozen Fumbaa's on Naboo last night. It didn't really take that long for each, if I kept setting them on fire, and let the DOT work for me.
I had a friend with me, she's almost a master marksman. We got tons of xp, and all I used was FT and LP.
Most people in here than complain about "nerf this" and "nerf that" are the power gamers that want to kill something big in 1 shot. Just play to have fun, and the xp will come fast enough.
Just remember to group, buff, and KILL.
Oh, and try to take missions of stuff that does not shoot back.
I take on mobs of big stuff all the time by myself. You just have to learn what you can and can't kill alone.

Launcher pistol works fine until you can get flame 1.....but then you still have to be within 15m of a person/target to use the flame 1 (wish I knew the distance limits when I first got it). Talk to a Master Artisan for a power-up for the launcher pistol to up the speed, or find a faster pistol have it sliced and pray for speed slice...THEN add the speed power up.

Works for me.

Also - although you will probably have you self handed to you - equip the FT at the mission terminal, they pay out better, but the LP will probably not help you in the fight.

nah, savage quenkers on dantooine, soooo easy to kill even as a master marksmen, or unarmed, 28k xp per mission if grouped, i got around 100-150k xp in 45 mins.

oh, does flamesingle1/2 take away from your weapons condition?

Not noticeably. I mastered all of commando off of a single flamethrower, and I'm still using it to this day.
