Hmm, So far i've heard about commandoes weapons having Charges.. as Charged to you mean Like charges like they were in EQ (*you have a certain amount of times to use it than its almost useless), or Charges as in Ammunintion?

If charges are one time use things, can you recharge?

Thanks!

Only the cannons have charges. Some weaponsmiths in the beta had versions turnout with close to 300 "rounds", which isn't that bad.

But our primary weapons will be the flame thrower and acid rifle. Those are not charge based.

Hmm thanks, that seems sort of messed up that weapons could have charges.. i couldnt understand long reloading times, or Expensive batteries and what not for Laser weapons, but not just becoming usless

there should be a way to replace the charges. That would be stupid if a gun that cost like 10-20k just becoming useless after a certain amount of shots.

We told the devs for months in beta our weapons were doing nothing and the resources could not be found. What did they say to us for months? /ignore commandos Another great SoE game!

Hi, been a master ch for a couple of weeks now and having loads of fun with it, but just a question. What do you guys charge (if at all) for things like mount training and pet training etc. I have not been charginganything for this service but recently i find more and more people seem to be obtaining pets and i get more and more requests. Welcome any input on this matter.

cheers

I like to charge 1-2k. Cheap, affordable, and will accumulate over time. If I am in a good mood, I usually mount/train for free.

I reckon there's a few things to consider -

a) you have to keep at least 1 free space in your datapad for this sort of thing

b) any pet they have is pretty much useless if it won't do what they say

c) you're in a position to name and personalise their pet - how many people get to name their speederbike / rifle?

I guess you could look at Smugglers slicing weapons as an example to compare against - they'll sometimes charge based on the percentage of improvement they deliver, or otherwise a flat fee. Maybe you could see how "2K per skill trained" works out?...maybe 5K per mount? Maybe find out the average speeder price, then take away the average price of a non-ch mount on your server, and call the difference your fee?

I never used to make any money training beasties but then again it was usually only guildies for whom I trained pets.

Anybody else have any ideas?

I never charge and 9 times out of 10 people tip me anyway and for much more than I would have asked if I did charge. And I'll get tipped even though I tellpeople I don't charge anything. If I don't get tipped, I just remember all the times people have helped me and never asked for anything.

I tell them, if they have 2 or less badges I'll do it for free. Usually you can tell if the person can afford it by what they're wearing, weapons they're carrying, title, are they with a group, etc. Otherwise, I charge 10K for a mount, and 1K per command. If they say they can't afford it I usually do it for free.

Personally, training commands/mounts isn't a big credit industry these days so I don't bother charging when people ask me. If they /tip me fine though of course.

If I did have to ask a CH though for a mount though, I wouldn't have a problem paying up to about 10k or so for it depending on what services are being provided (is the CH providing the pet too, for example). Mounts go slower than vehicles so you definitely can't charge more than a vehicle I'd think.

Yeah, it kinda seems ludicrous sometimes....but your vehicle can not be named, costs you 6K about every week, can't tank for you, can't guard you, can't group with you for xp and mission bonus, can't do ranged or any attacks, can't have specials such as intimidate and dizzy, etc.

Mounts are a one time payment for something that will never degrade, in the long run mounts, even at 10K are a much cheaper investement and are more versatile.
