As someone who is looking to pick up commando as my primary profession after the CU and also someone who is vitally interested in PvP, would anyone be able to give me info on the current state of commando PvP in the CU for a Master Commando who alsohas a second mastered ranged profession? I would like to know how effective we are against TKMs, Riflemen, and the like. So, in short, are we any good?
Also, if anyone has tried MCommando/MBH, how does that stack up when primarily using commando weapons with BH specials and improved duelist stance?

Still much testing to do, but it seems commando can hold its own.

Im M.Commando // M.BH // Carbineer o4oo
I have duel 3 times and won all. I've not dueled enough to conclude testing. The BH specials seem to work a treat with the commando weapons
Will come back with more data soon.

I'd thought the CU testing was invite-only. I found out it wasn't, so I joined TC and have been testing it out. Haven't been able to do much PvP, though, since all the Imperials cart around their pet AT-STs (level 125), which incap me in two shots thanks to the damage multiplier for being higher level. So real PvP doesn't exist on TC.

Rathask just ask for a friendly duel no DB with some one, lots of people testing there templates so should'nt be a problem.
Don't duel any with an AT-ST either!

i have been trying out different commando templates ... so far my two favs are
M commando / MBH / novice CM
and
M commando / M Carbine / novice medic (didnt do any other final point spending on this one yet ...will play around with it some more later)
Commando to me just seems to compliment what ever ranged prof you have to go along with it ...

Hey wow, no one's posted how amazingly awesome Commando and Smuggler work together. My full template is Master Commando/Master Smuggler/Carbineer 0,4,4,0. If I get the first kd, I win, period. I was around dueling in entha, dueled a TKM,I almost incapped him when he saw the flame dot and was like NO! So I explained that fire doesn't do what it used to. So he asked me to duel again, no kd, in a tent. The rule was, niether of us could leave the tent. Expecting to die, since I'd always be in range of him, I accepted just for the heck of it. He accidentally hit his kd button, but I was able to stand back up and heal off. A minute later, he was incapped a very electricuted.
Yes, I'm dead serious. I beat a TKM, one on one, in melee range. No kiting, nothing. Then I dueled a master swordsman with the evil power hammer equipped. Kd'd him, rooted him, kd'd him again, and he ended the duel.
It's nice knowing you're feared.

hmm will have to try it with smuggler for a bit ... commando mostly seems to just enhance what ever other ranged prof you have with it ... (tho i may be wrong) it doesnt seem to be a major stand alone elite prof ...

If you build your template around Commando, the Commando is very powerful due to it's arsenal of weapons. When another elite prof is added for it'sspecialsit is very effective.
If you build you template around another prof, and take a tree or two of commando for a few weapon certifications, or even master it, you will play the character differently than those who build their template around commando.
It's your choice.

So far out of all the commando combos I've tried, I like master Commando/master Carbineer with the nice damage output from chargeshot and legshot but a MBH can slightly outdamage you so there's a bit of DPS competition up there. When I tried master Commando/master Smuggler, I wasn't all that impressed with it.

Smuggler isn't very damaging. Instead, it's better used for kd/rooting your target, then switching to another special you've dabbled for that's more powerful.
